Thank you Sir, for the invitation:beer:

I talked it over with Mrs. PJohnson and a cross-country trip to GSMTR is a bit beyond our capabilities this year. It was close though, 'cuz we're flying to Florida on May 29 for a family visit (young'n is graduating:) )

I will keep working on a plan and get out there to wheel with y'all.

Phil

Landed safe in the Great State of Texas from Puerto Rico early evenin' Sunday and drove towards The 3X's. Swung thru the Big City of Bonham to fetch my mail at the post office and seen The Old Man's truck outside Baker Tire. Stopped in to say hi ... and load up The Trusty Ol' Comp'ny Truck full to the brim with parts and pieces that had come in for the lil' jeep.

Lift kit ain't made it yet and only got four tires ... but it was still a truckload. Spent the last coupla days puttin' in some long hours in the shop. :D

Should be able to post up some pics in the next day or so.

:flamingo:

Got slapped with my first set back today. Done gathered up all the parts and pieces for them lil' doors and hauled 'em down to Greg Sadler's place for some help with the assembly. Evidently there was a model change that I wasn't aware of. My door panels to match the '06 won't fit on the doors I got. Reckon I didn't do my homework on that deal.

Damn ....

FOR SALE: TJ half doors ... real purdy blue.

I need a friggin' beer. :frown:

You've got to be kidding...

After some serious head scratchin' and research ... I got to the bottom of this mess. As I thought, all TJ doors are indeed interchangeable. The problem is the TJ doors I bought ain't for a TJ ... they're for a friggin' YJ ... them jeeps with the square headlights.

Soooo ...

FOR SALE: YJ doors ... real purdy blue.

But ain't no one monkey stoppin' this here circus. As always when I'm in a bind ... I called The Old Man. He gave me his contact at Collins Brothers Jeep down in Wylie. I ain't shy 'bout name droppin' ... and mentioned I was on referral from The Wise One hisself ... and all the doors opened. They had one set for a TJ that they had got in yesterday for one of their project trucks but them Fellas sold 'em to me instead. Thanks Old Man.

So I jumped in the Trusty Ol' Comp'ny Truck and headed South real quick like. Now if'n I could just get 'em painted ...

Cranked up the cell phone on the way and called Greg Sadler and told 'em the deal. He said he'd call me right back. When he did, he done had his buddy lined up at a paint shop ready to jump on 'em and told me to bring 'em over on my way back. So I picked up the doors and swung by Greg's. He stripped off the fluff so they was ready to paint and his buddy came and picked 'em up. I get 'em back Saturday. Thanks Greg.

What the hell ... it's only money ... I'll make more tomorrow. :grinpimp:

Back on track and life is good. :bounce: :bounce2:

:flamingo:

Reckon it's time for some pics By Gawd ...
