Glove box light is out, no juice. Is there any trick to this?

Am I missing a fuse or something somewhere?

I thought the bulb was out when I got the truck a few weeks ago but the replacement wouldn't work so I pulled the socket and tested the voltage.... Zero. Is there some known issue with this? I've never had this happen before.

jcruse..did you figure this out? I have same issue. Tested new bull with lights on and didn't work. Does car need to be running?

Damn. After all these years owning my LX (15 and counting), I never knew there was a light. What’s the bulb size?

This is to funny. I changed my bulb a few months back and didn't work. Assumed it was a bad connection because the bulb was new.

Just started up the rig and turned on the lights. Yep it works as advertised. And checked the ashtray light, that works also.

Never noticed in 14 years of ownership there was a ashtray light. And it is green like the dash.

Just curious, I am trying to replace mine as well. I picked up a #74 but it seems to be to short. Am I missing something?
I'm pretty sure this was my LED Swap. My 80's life sadly came to an end (totaled), so can't specifically check.

It appears 74 alone refers to a family of bulbs. It might be "mini wedge?"

For what it's worth, I do recall one replacement, probably from O'Reillys, didn't fit correctly despite looking identical.

I found a replacement, looked very similar to the 74 just had a different number. Did yours get into an accident?

Unfortunately. Freak snow accident coming down the road from our ski area that I've driven a thousand times. I was one of three cars the same day, one of which was a 100 series. Hidden dicey conditions got me.

Yeah the parking light dependency trips people up constantly. Worth knowing the other end of this too — if you've confirmed the lights are on and still no juice at the socket, check the ground on that socket before you go chasing fuses. On a lot of these the socket ground corrodes at the clip and you get zero voltage through the circuit even when everything else is fine. Tiny bit of dielectric on the contacts after you clean them and it'll stay sorted. Bulb itself is a 3CP if I recall right, same as several other small interior lights on these trucks.
