Glove-box grab bar?

It was one day I broke into this thread but I did so in the middle of earlier conversations about how to install the bar.
So I wrote a little blurb about my install so that the squeemish would not fear punching holes through there dash pads.
When I replied it showed up @ 253 and it made no sence to have that post there.
So I deleted it.
Nobody's character was taken into account. Steve is Steve, and you Mot are doing all of us Cruiser Heads a great service.
Thanks again for the G- bar. (I need another one soon.)

Tim/Guys,

Most of Japan is shut down for the new year through the end of the week and/so I have not heard back from Jdan concerning the date.

"IF" he flakes out (I won't) I will refund everyone the full amount, so please don't worry! (not that I think any of you are, but...)

Anyway, I hope I'll be able to let you know next week when we can expect them to come in.

I heard from Jdan a couple of days ago and he said that he should be able to get some of the bars that I have ordered (more than requested on the thread). So I'm hoping that he is right and that I would be able to get the bars for those thave have paid for them.

I've heard that the MAF bars have been sold out (Surprise, surprise! ;) )

Anyway, as usual, thanks for your patience and I will try to do a better job keeping you guys posted.

I've just heard from Jdan and he told me somewhat of good news of 11 bars coming in; four gray and two oak for the early (pre '95) dash and five oak bars for the late (post '95) models.

The list I had compiled may not be accurate (please let me know if I'm wrong), but copying from Page 6 of this thread, the most recent/current version looks something like this:

-lowtops ('91 Gray: new) *
-Whitey ('93 Gray: new)
-fatfish ('94 Gray: new) *
-Bryan E ('94 Oak: new)
-jklubens ('92 Gray: new) *
-aim ('92 Gray: new) *

So lowtops, fatfish, jklubens, and aim are good to go from the early dash, gray color (in oak as well in case of aim).

And all of you who have paid for your post '95 oak bars will be all set as soon as I receive the them.

Jdan told me that he was told that the rest should not take that much longer, but was also told that it was kind of odd that they would not be able to supply us with all of them at the same time. :mad:

Anyway, I'll ask Jdan to ship them to me as soon as possible and I'll get them sent out just as quickly as I receive them (I hope;) ).

And since it's been so long, please let me know your shipping information, INCLUDING YOUR PHONE NUMBER and if you have specific/special instructions.

ALSO, please let me know if there is another item(s) that you have placed/paid for along with the bar so I would be able to get it right the first time.

And lastly, those of you who have not paid can pay or can wait until I get the rest of the bars to do so.

Oh, and again, I apologize if I have not got the correct list information above. Again, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Customs? Customs? Customs! I didn't think of this. What interaction does one have to have with the delivery critter? In other words, does one pay duty? To whom? And, of course, how much?

I have never had anybody tell me anything about customs other than shipments that had gone to a member another country where he had told me in advance how much he wanted me to declare.

I have been putting about what the bars cost me (stated earlier in the thread) and that should be OK. That is not to say that they will not charge you anything. But even if they did, it should not be very much for items that cost around $40.

The good thing is that it is not breakable so you don't have to worry about it being shattered when you open the package.

Anyway, if you want me to declare it any differently, I can do that, but it'll be your responsibility to deal with the Customs if their director surfs Mud and has been following the grab bar thread. :D

I'll keep you posted with the progress though.

Sorry i was wrong, try to deal with bigger and heavier stuff you'll see what im talking about :flipoff2: :D As i remember last time i bought the JDM kit, spring, shock and panhards i end up paid the U.S customs fee.Well probably the kit was exceed the max weight.Same other heavy stuff such as 80s front bumper, TRD swaybars but not light weight items such the rear spoiler, etc...:rolleyes: ;)

I think some of the people that have purchased stuff from me can tell you that I don't need to apply any sissy stickers. I just get high everytime I get done prepping them because of the fume I have been smelling. :flipoff2:

FWIW, I didn't deal with customs at all with my OEM fogs from MOT, they just showed up with the mail man. I did have to sign though, and since I wasn't home had to go to the post office after a couple delivery attempts- which is why I'm getting this one shipped to work. Mot, I'll PM you all new info, just in case.

Yeah, um, I think I paid for a few sets of clear tail lenses, and some more OEM fogs. And a ladder, yeah a ladder. And a cooler box. :)
 
OK, supposedly Jdan has sent the bars (yesterday). So I should be receiving them either tomorrow or on Thu.

I'm hoping that I would be able to get them out on Friday.

If you haven't given me the contact information, including the phone number(s), please give them to me. And also as I said/asked, please let me know (if you haven't already) if you are ordering/have paid for anything else to be sent at the same time.
