Over to UBC to get a tumor in my leg removed, its a big sucker and is giving me a fair amount of discomfort.. My surgeon is one of the better known from the Cancer institute, I will be walking out after about 5 hours and going home..

I am looking forward to getting back to the little mini truck in my garage and getting it rolling.

Rob

Quite sore, first day was hell, the pain killers were not even touching the pain as I had to double up..couple days in big improvement.. To say the least I was impressed with the team in the OR room, they worked together so well and I had an excellent nurse to get me started with the IV and all the questions they ask.... You meet every one who will be in the room, so professional.

I did feel at ease until they get into the room and they put you on the table, thats when it gets real very fast, but before you know it they have you out.

Thanks Nick for asking..

As you may notice my sleeping patterns are still crap, hope to get this sorted out over the weekend.

HOT NURSE, GOOD PILLS...LOL

Glad to here you're back home. Unfortunately I know what you mean about the pain pills not touching it. You'll also find if you stay ahead of the pain management (pills) it'll take less than if you get behind. (In case you didn't know... Hope you've not had this before)

I was glad to see your post. I started to worry last night when there'd not been a reply. I hope your recovery goes well and it is as quick possible.

Hope you feel better soon Rob! Just don't rush things; let it heal properly. I hope the pain gets better soon too.

You'll be wheelin' again in no time! :steer:

Thanks, I was taking the most outlined by the doctor of the pain medicament and it was not working well, i had to exceed his highest recommended dosage to have it work, eventually I tappered it down quickly...I had an alarm every 6 hours to wake me for the next dosage in order to keep on track with the pain management.

Thanks for the kind words again....

Rob

Hey Nick, I will not rush this healing process and look forward to hitting the trails son with you and your son again....

Upper thigh? Hopefully they only removed the lumps they were supposed to....

I'd recommend writing "Do not remove" on anything you want to remain attached with a sharpie.

(or maybe just "NO" if space is limited. :flipoff2:)

I'm drawing parallels with "marriage"!

Hoping for a good speedy recovery for you dieselcruiserman.
Cheers!

Ya, I was a little worried until the Kiwi doc pulled in asked me where the tumour was and drew a arrow and put his initials below it, I was going to as for a drawing of a wall between my groin an upper thigh....;) or at the very least circle the tumour...

He was quite the character, those Kiwis have a good sense of humour..
