I don't have N74L's but I did get a pair of 2" shock extension brackets for the Lexus. The pink panties came with the LX. Anybody know the free length measurement of the OEM rear LX springs?

The panties offer more flex.

Hoser,

More details on the pink panties.. :grinpimp: oh I mean the 2" shock extensions. What are you trying to achieve, are you planning on removing the rear AHC bracket and placing back to stock and having the shock extension provide the rear lift?
I'll need to hit you later on rebound issue up front (what I think it is but could be wrong) that I'm having.

CTapia, yes, I was planning on using the bracket to get lift in the rear. The net effect would be better suspension droop. I'm just trying to decide which longer springs to use. The idea was discussed a little more on John's N74L thread.

It looks like the 863`s rate is 250 lb/in and the 866`s are 240-300 lb/in (variable rate spring)

I DO know that once you compress the 866 a bit, it gets VERY stiff, I think its impossible to bottom those 866`s out regardless of weight ! (and trust me.. I`ve tried !!)

Its been a real struggle to decide on a rear bumper..I waited until the ARB was released to make sure that I had no regrets with my purchase, but I feel confident now that the Slee will be a great investment ...

You're gonna love the Slee rear bumper...no dissapointments. Depending on what you are running for cargo in the back you might be best served with the 863's with 1-10mm packer...this is assuming you want to raise the front 2-1/2" and you have cargo to carry (i.e. drawers, recovery gear, fridge/freeze, dogs, jacks, CO2, etc.)

FWIW: I did not like the 866's off-road (before I had the Slee rear bumper but with the AO drawers). The progressive spring theory didn't cut it for me. In fact I, with the same set-up, liked the 865's better.

I do a lot of mixed-weight off roading ( I.E. no 2nd/3rd row seats, very little recovery equipment or gear one day, LOADED to the ceiling with tons of camping gear, 130QT cooler (full of beer) roof rack loaded past capacity the next day...) So the 866`s have worked (so far) VERY well...they have performed great off-road/on road and I like the fact that when some SERIOUS weight is on them, the stiffer-rate kicks in and makes it seemingly impossible to bottom out the rear.

Now, this may change with the Slee on the back, but I will have to see.

I did notice last night, coming home with the (not-yet installed) tire carrier and my spare in the cargo area that my 100 felt MUCH more balanced with the extra weight back there compared to before..With the weight of the ARB on the front and NO rear bumper it felt uneasy over the harsh dips on the expressway, now it rides nice !! :D

Hopefully it all works well together when loaded, but if not....

DAMN I HATE TRIAL AND ERROR !!

RIGHT RIGHT! The 100 was a rear wheel lifter until that bumper balanced the weight. HUGE safety factor for my trails here in AZ....steep downhills and rutted holes.

The next thing you'll notice off road will be the rear stay planted more and the a front wheel lifts in the ruts. The N74L mod cut that about 80%. You have a great ride coming....right around the corner.

SC100: If your 866's are the same as mine were I think if you look at your springs the next time you have your LC loaded down you will see the "progressive" coils (softer coils) totally collapsed. And the remaining coils, being the stiffer coils doing all the work; but only a few coils and less than half the total height of the spring itself! Off-road, particularly going through some 'whoops', the two sections ("progressive") felt like they were fighting each other. The 863's (and 865's) with a constant coil throughout seem linear/more consistent/controlled in comparison in the way they compress and rebound. JM$.02

Stop it John...I am already driving my installer nuts trying to fit me in to have this mod put on !! :)

I cant wait !!

HMMM...I wonder if the " doubting thomas` " will believe ONLY TWO 100 OWNERS opinions !!?? :flipoff2:

BTW...I already have a spot that I ALWAYS lift my rear wheel when traveling through...lets see what happens after the mod !!
