Wife was working extra today (and last few Saturdays), and I just had to get out. Easy run to North Main with my kids. Total gong show up there as it has become quite popular. I ended up having to save a Jeep. Quite a few positive comments on the cruiser; it performed very well. Group in the Taco were friendly.

Good for you, looks like a nice day. I raked the front yard and piled a cord and a half.
looks like good snow.

Your day sounds like my last few Saturdays.

Snow was typical west coast melted down re-frozen multiple times heavy sugar with crust on top. Really hard stuff to get through. Not like easy fresh snow at all. Lots of parked vehicles on the way up. I went about 1.5km further than anyone else. The Kumho MT's surprised me and did very well.

Got the BJ74 plated. Gonna be a busy next few days but I’ll try to get the recovery gear into it.
I have no idea how the Toyo’s will do in snow, this truck is pretty light. But scared with no winch.
Nor does it have any proper recovery hooks. Really should take care of this stuff.

Not fair... my last few days have been stressful sh!t with little good to come from it. All got sorted in the end, but I’d much rather have gone out to play in the snow. Didn’t even make progress on any of the stuff I need to do.

Sorry to hear John! Hope life gets better.

You know how it is... life is just crazy these days. Most isn’t my problems directly. There are good days and bad. I’ve actually made progress in many areas. Even rebuilt our cracked dryer for $25 when the parts are NLA. (Even have an abundance of spare dryer parts now)

Slowly but surely... patience is a virtue they say. Hate those people. :arghh:

I get out most every weekend and some times twice week and not really posting up pictures. In the near future I will post some pictures of new trails, lakes Cabins that we have been visiting. The ole 42 has been side lined and the 81 series is a dream to wheel often, she is big but you learn to fallow the smaller trucks with more care.

Post some pictures do we can live vicariously through you... and keep some notes of the places and how to get there so we can eventually follow.

I’ve recently picked up a small handheld Garmin and a DVD of Topo maps for all of Canada. I started by loading all of BC and Nova Scotia... only used about 10-15% of the available storage on the micro-SD card. The maps I have aren’t the most current... but the lakes and mountains haven’t moved. One of these days I’ll have to test it out ;)

It’s not the fanciest, but given I grew up wheeling using the sun and a compass to navigate, it’ll make things a lot easier. Now I know what’s at the other side of the mountain, valley, or forest grove... even if I can’t see it.

Do you have a winch on the 81?

valley, or forest grove... even if I can’t see it.

I will, my biggest hurdle is my stupid ultra cheap lap top that I cannot down load pictures. New lenova carbon 8 arrives this week and I will have hundreds up pictures to go through and edit.

As for the winch Johnathon, I have one but pulled the steel cable off a long time ago and refushed to put it back on the drum as I have a new Runva 1100 on the floor with rope. Working on collecting many parts for upgrades, 3 inch vibrant mandrel bent tub, 3 inch 10 foot stick of .065 stainless tube 304 grade, 5 V band clamps. Have a friend who is going to plasma table us a couple flanges to the ct26. Cheap Amazon led lights, Power stop rotors and pads, new calipers, rear ebrake shoes. Once I build the exhaust which will run between trans and frame, I will add sliders which in hind site should of been the first thing.

On my wish list ... slinky springs (my ome front is broken and sits really low right side) then you need their shocks for the extra 5 inches of down travel. Custom rear bumper to hold my 37 tire and some other goodies. Front fender tube work to protect my fenders.Wink turbo and intercooler, trans cooler. Talking with Kyle at NWF about building some custom radius arms with about 6 to 8 degrees of camber and maybe 1.75 longer to get the 37s from hitting the back of the fender. Not that we need it here in BC but the black box is completed and can be bolted to the back of the cruiser auto,I think it can be run as a under drive or overdrive.

Rob, that is a long list of things to do AFTER getting your dirtbike going. Priorities mate.... priorities.

Jay is bringing them up from Victoria, think we will ride Thursday or Friday and I am a little nervous Cam as I was last on a street bike 25 years ago, I will be the tail gunner.Got the bike sorted, running better than ever, for a gutless 250 klx ;)

The parts pile can keep growing for all I care, rather hunker down and do it all at once.. Good buddy owns a shop and two hoists offered to let me use one of his hoist for a few days.
