Gaging Interest - FJ80/FZJ80 Rear Bumper Kits

The plan is to have provisions for spindles. The image I posted doesn't show it, but it will have two 1-3/4" holes at each end...in fact, the shop that cuts the FJ60 kit for me is very flexible. If someone wants one with 1-1/2" holes, or just one swing out on the driver or passenger side or even no swing outs, that is also doable. The price I quoted does not include any tire carrier parts.

I ran into another snag this weekend. The guy who I was working with locally sold his FJ80, but was able to find another individual to help out. Will be getting a prototype cut soon and sent to this guy for test fitting.

Interested in the FZJ80 model. Please keep us posted. I have a buddy that will probably take one too.

No prob.

FZj80 here.. waiting on how this looks, want a tire carrier and tank on the other, hitch receiver and an extra "protection " bar for the rear 1/4

It will definitely have a tire carrier as well as rear quarter protection. Not sure about the hitch receiver.

I have no place telling you how to sell your product but if you have the opportunity to have some sort of hitch receiver in there, do it. I know i may not have use for it all times but i rather have it and not always need to use it than need it and not be able to use it.

Receiver hitch = huge personal liability...that is the reason I left it off my 60 kit. Adding it to the 80 requires cutting the rear cross member. Not sure how many folks out there would do that.

Thinking about making a bolt on receiver hitch like man-a-fre sells. Actually, the design would use the 4 threaded holes in the cross member to attach the bumper along with brackets on the frame rails.

MAF Receiver Hitch

Interested in the rear bumper as well. Also would love to see some sort of hitch option.

I like the idea of keeping the crossmember and utilizing the 4 bolt holes with a MAF type hitch. Thanks for your work.

Some updates...got together with an LX450 owner and we did some test fitting of some parts I had cut for the FJ80. I have to make some fairly major changes to the quarter protection. We made some good progress today and hope I can get some prototypes of the quarter protection soon. Hope to get some prototypes of the entire bumper cut around mid to late December.

Another very interesed 80 owner!
