Yes, that's correct, the tcase will ground a line from the locker comp and let you operate lockers normally. Since I used a different tcase I had to ground that lead separately,

Sounds like you have a good start, great project!
I am actually considering another one, found a good price on an 80 that needs an engine and it is making me want to do it.
Keep us posted on the build, that is a great engine for the 80.
The thing you need to think about is the gearing again, I went with the 700R4 because it actually had better final drive than the NV4500 if I remember correctly, plus I didn't want to go to the trouble of converting to 5 speed, would be nice though. If the 6.5 is anything like my 6.2 it needs to cruise at under 2,000 rpm, 1,800 is about perfect.
Good luck!

With the MFI of a '93, putting together a harness should be pretty simple. The OP has the basics in post #26.

I think is so cool that you did a 6.5 swap. We got a 84 6.2 that's a complete dog. Slow, bulky. But man she sounds mean, and can't beat 22mpg on the freeway out of an 80s truck. Ive looked into it because I love the idea of a diesel inside my 80.
Did you get one of the 6.5s with the interchangeable chips. Also how'd you get around the crappie timing advance system they run on the 6.5s
I know I'm 16 years behind just kinda curious
