These pics are from this weekend's hunting opener for me and some of my hunting homies. This is an area in Northern Nevada I would like to take you guys to sometime next year for one of our 4x4 runs. It would be an incredible trip with base camping and miles and miles of higher elevation exploring!

Okay, when did you go and how many birds did you get?

Shawn

Just got back this evening...went up last Friday. 8. Its every bit the challenging year they predicted :frown:. I covered close to 20-miles in three days of hiking/hunting. I wanted to stay and hunt today and 1/2 day tomorrow but the dogs, including Sieg, were absolutely trashed!

Lets make a plan Shawn to go chase 'em together...SOON!

Didn't get a picture but we had to stop and wait for 50+ Pronghorns that came charging across the sagebrush in single file to cross the road just 50' ahead of us! They were running full tilt...kicked up a dust trail not unlike our 4x4's! Momma's, 3-nice bucks and several small year-lings. It was an incredible site...since we were so close you could see every muscle in the bodies/heads working as they kept up their full gate...an image seared into my memory for sure!!! And this was the same day I saw another 30-Pronghorns in another area...great to see them.

Looks like a fun area.
I should be ready by next year.
I found a set of springs for the 100.

Good! Let me know when you want the shocks. I'm going to resume the slider project this week...I ran without on this last trip since I wasn't doing anything too tough and didn't have time anyway...but it'll be nice peace of mind to get'em done.

BTW the Mombasa looks good on the trailer, is it still working out for you?

I'll let you know when the springs show up.

Are you going to re-work yours old sliders or start from scratch?

Actually it's a Maggiolina. I really like it. It's not as roomy of course as the king size Overland; but works for me just fine. Zero dust issues when traveling! And even quicker/easier set-up/tear down. It is quite a bit warmer and quieter to sleep in. So I'll be going back to down comforter or lighter weight/higher temp range sleeping bag for most runs that see night time temps in the twenties and up.

No...all new sliders from the ground up.

BEAUTIFUL, with the trees changing colors!
Gotta LOVE that!

Thanks for sharing those Dan!
Id bet Barney Riley would be nice this time of year as well, much like it is there!

Dang it, you take some nice pictures. Except that first one. That one building is out of kilter.;)

Some pretty country out there!

Mike

Thanks Mike! It really IS out of kilter ;)

Oh yeah, it's going to take some serious work to get birds this year. Zach and I went out this weekend, man they were high. On the way home the ignition module went out 40 miles out of town. That was fun.

That's pretty much what I found allover: Birds were high, wild and not necessarily on water! Bummer about the ignition module.
