Hey guys I am on the hunt for a fusible link for my FJ. I have called a number of places, and looked at lots of sites. When I click a link I end up here. Where is here? I got to looking at some of the forums here and lost track of time. So I am looking for anyone that might know where will be able to find a fusible link for my 87 cruiser.

The only new sources I know of are the dealer & SOR. An other option is to buy fusible link wire & the pin connectors and fix yours.

From the dealer or Land Cruiser parts place: Part # 90982-08135

You can repair the FL, but it's a bit of work and you have to buy the right FL wire.

I have repaired fuseable links before. It always makes me wonder why autos and trucks dont use Circuit breakers like that of aircraft. I mean, you have to goto the pain of finding or troubleshooting the fuse-able link, then find a new one to repair it. with a CB, just pop it back in BEFORE you identify the short if possible!.

There are also blade fuses with LED's in them that will light up if popped! that is really help full when you are looking under the hood or under the dashboard to identify which fuse had blown.

That leads me to this obvious qustion?

Can either of those options be incorporated into our rigs and do away with the FL?

It would be nice to use a CB or the LED lights set up. That would save lots of time and money. Looks like I am out of luck until Mon morning. It would be nice if you could incorporate any of the two systems.
