Who can tell me what the white wire is for? The one with the one white wire with grey plug coming off with the connector? Previous owner cut and spliced and wrapped with electric tape so I dont have the other end of this to plug into. Toyota told me its discontinued. Wondering what its powering and what others have done who might be in a similar position? Can I just put ring crimps on both ends and pass through the fusible link junction box with the other two wires?

What model is it?
If it's a 1HZ engine, the two other legs may be glow and power/charge.
The one you are questioning may be headlights.

See if your headlights work. Then disconnect it and see if they stop working.

Regardless of what circuit it is for, to connect, I would look what is inside the grey plug, it may just be a blade terminal. Or take it to an auto electrical shop and see if they can match a plug for you. It will make future replacement easier if it can connect without modifying.

Others may be able to give more accurate advice if you state your model.

That connects to fusible link AM2.

That would be a HARD NO. Worst idea I've heard today.

Male connector: 90980−10982
Female connector: 90980-10983
Male pins: 82998-12470
Female pins: 82998-12480

sounds like we had the same prior owner

i fixed it by splicing in a repair wire and adding back in the connector. both purchased from the dealer ~2020
90980-10982 FL AM2 housing
82998-12470 FL AM2 repair wire

i hope both those are still available

Thanks, the male connector I need is no longer available, looks like its a 30 amp? Any suggestions for what to do as a work around?

Thanks for that, looks promising. Any idea on what pin/wire and insulation/seal size to select?

i'd guess you'll want the 12-14 AWG pin. that wire is supporting 30A

seal size is based on the outer diameter of the factory wire, if you have enough length left to crimp that new pin on. i wish the Toyota wiring doc specified the AWG of the wires. if you buy the Toyota pigtail, it comes w/ the right seal pre-crimped

This is the one that I purchased which is the correct one having received it.
14-12 AWG
2.9-3.5mm SL8 option
