Fuel gauge issues.

Hey guys. My 79 bj40’s fuel gauge just decided to stop working correctly while I was off-roading. The moment you power up everything the fuel gauge goes right up well past full. I’ve pulled the cluster and checked everything, it seems to be good. The truck is a 24volt, and I have checked the drop resistor on the back of the cluster and it seems to be working correctly. Minute you turn the truck off it goes back down to empty. Would love some help with troubleshooting here. Cheers

I'd say the float in the tank sender unit is stuck from your off road adventures.. The manual should have testing procedures for the sender.
