I did study this link https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=78276 but it also says that I should refer to the FSM.

And yes a little bit cheap @ss but mostly time restrains of ordering one, I need to do this before I leave for a long trip.

and a expert Land Cruiser Master standing right next to you helping you from doing something drastically wrong to your truck :D

If you could use an extra set of hands I'm not doing anything on Saturday. It's been about a year since I did mine, but I think I remember most of it. I also have the DVD and an FSM if you need to borrow them.

Todd, Thanks

Erwin, I could really use the help. I want to minimize me bugging Todd when he has his own projects to work on. I will have my laptop anyways so maybe we could take a peek at the DVD and FSM if you bring it, thanks.

thanks

Well I just got back from California and now have time to publicly thank Todd, Erwin and Ernest for helping me with the knuckle repack for the trip. It sure took a lot of anxiety out of my travels and it defiantly needed a repack.

The trip went great! We had so much fun. I would recommend this trip for next year! There were tons of different cruisers there and a lot of nice people. The weather was great and the camping was fun. We were camped right in the middle of everything. The only down side was the over $850 in gas. Maybe it was the gas stations by the expressways but the fuel prices here are far better. And what’s with the octane out west? 85 is the unleaded, not 87. I need to get out more. And over 4400 miles, say good by to low miles 93 fzj80.

It was worth it to be around so many cruisers!:D

Curious, how many miles did you have on your truck and how were the condition of the used parts? Any particular places of excessive wear? Thanks for sharing the info.

Hello Archie,
When we did the repack I had 74,280 miles on it and all the parts looked to be in great condition with the exception of the seals. The seals were defiantly bad judging by the soupy mess. But the rest of the parts (birfs, bearings) only showed normal wear. I even brought along a spare birf just in case.

Scott,

What trip did you attend in CA? Never mind, I figured it out..S&T '06. Looked like great fun. I was this close to going there from the SEMA show but couldn't manage any more time off!

If you ever wanna swing through N.M., we're here!!!
