I'm selling my "Sean's rear bumper" to buy a tighter, rock crawling style bumper. This is the 2nd version of his bumpers. It has a tire swing out on the passenger side and 3 jerry can holder on the drivers side. Integrated tow hitch, lite license plate holder, back up light tab and a cb tab. Sean is selling his bumpers for $1700 (https://forum.ih8mud.com/sale-parts...g-out-tire-carrier-bumper-10.html#post7765228) I want $1300 for the whole sha-bang.

I have absolutely no issues with this bumper. In fact, I've owned 2 of his bumpers, SD Native can confirm this. Sean is a great guy and I feel half guilty selling this bumper due to my relationship with the guy, but I would prefer a tighter departure angle, so I'm selling it. First guy at my door with $1300 gets it.

I'll post some pictures of it's current condition when I get home.

Good deal for someone.

Probably in great condition as Mike doesn't really wheel his rig. Now if it was Derrick's rig I would be highly suspect.

What bumper are you replacing it with?

Hahaha Eric! Funny you say that, I'm replacing this bumper with Derrick's old bumper and quarter-panel guards.

I'm stoked a good guy picked up this bumper...
Thanks Adam!

The bumper is sold!

Great! Congrats Adam!

Nice that we kept it in the family!

Thanks! I'm pretty excited to get this thing installed. I wanted to break out the cutoff wheel and go to town on the crossmember tonight, but I figured the neighbors might not share in my same enthusiasm at this hour.

Thanks again Mike!

Nice! Post some pics when you get it installed.

I don't think they would have cared or even heard. By 930, all the gray hairs in your hood have removed their hearing aids and are fast asleep!

I have one bolt that was left behind. I can run it over to the house if you like.

I'm wishing I tested that theory last night. Can't wait to get home and start working on that thing. I was able to finally pop that grease cap off, so I was able to pull the other swingout off, so that should make the installation go a little easier.

Either way. I can swing by later, or if you are out and about later. Whatever works out best.

Thanks!

You mean Mike is not installing it for you like Sean does?

Of course he is, he just doesn't know it yet. Why else do you think I left that bolt behind.... :hhmm: Just kidding. He was gracious to help out though, so if I do get stuck, I may take him up on the offer.

I didn't get as far as I wanted, but I have a game plan for tomorrow. I'm going to like this thing......

Looks great! Kinda familiar though...

BTW: your water can is on the wrong side!

Brief (related) thread hijack:

I have a 4x4 labs bumper and several scepter cans, three (3) of which go in the rear bumper just like those in the pictures from the last two (2) posts. My question is:

Is there a way to lock or otherwise prevent access to the scepter cans? I don't like that while enroute to a trail, campsite, etc, anytime I leave the truck in a public place, the cans can be compromised. Good examples include if I should stay at a hotel along the way, make a longer shopping or restaurant stop, etc.

Compromising the fuel only hurts the car. Someone compromising the H20 is a lot worse. So if I leave my car unattended and out of site for more than a few minutes, I find myself having to actually unload and lock up the 3 cans.......

I know some carriers have a bar that goes across the top preventing access to the caps and and the bar locks in place.

Is this a possible area for a new product that attaches to the sides of the can carrier......?

If you tighten them with a k-wrench, the only ones opening it, have a k-wrench. You can buy one here... http://ajikoverlandexchange.com/products-page/equipment/405-2/

Hahaha! Ive had some nice looking bumpers. It's like seeing 2 old girl friends with their new husbands....

She had been around the block a few times when I got her. I had to invest some time and love and clean her up a bit, but now she's respectable. Although I still have to knock her up against the rocks now and again if she gets out of line.
