Did you use an OEM seal?

X2

Were the mains and seating surfaces in good shape?
Burrs will shred the seal to pieces.
Dings will not form an even sealing surface.

Also, have you checked the oil seals around the timing cover?
A leaky seal up front will look alot like a bad front main, just lower down.

Crank was Checked and polished by the machine shop. New pump, timing cover and seals were used. I sleeved the crank pulley. I heard of putting sealant on one of the oil pump bolts, I did not do this. I wiped the oil off and drove the truck for about 10 miles, rechecked and noticed the oil, I appears to be leaking from the crank pulley.

I just got a message from Ted at engbldr.com, he told me that if the top oil pump bolt is not sealed it will leek due to the bolt going all the way through the cover, I am going to try this first. He also told me that the sleeveNseal should be sealed on the inside around the crank snout, I did not do this either, this will be step two if the bolt sealing does not work. I got all my engine parts from engbldr, got to love their customer service, I would recommend this company to anyone wanting to rebuild their engines, they have been very helpful.

you might want to try and measure the diameter of the crank snout with a digital caliper or something now that it is sleeved.

i personally have not seen this, but a buddy mechanic of mine has seen where after sleeving seal shafts, the diameter is too large. it causes the seal to be stretched out more than it was designed for, and it still leaks.

I'll ask again.

Ted is a nice guy, he sells decent stuff, I've used him quite a few times. I bought a complete engine kit from him for my 22RE that is currently apart. My pistons, cam, oil pump, valves, etc are all engnbldr parts. But I never use any of the seals in his kits. I buy the OEM kits or seal-by-seal as needed. Not saying that's your problem this time, but it's something to consider while you pull it apart anyway, go get a new seal from C-Dan or beno.

Same thing for the seals in the Yukon diff kits.

Well my plan is to 1- remove the top oil pump bolt and seal it
2- remove and replace the crank pulley as well as replace the front seal. Yeas I did use a new seal but WTF I'll do it again just to rule it out. I'll repost when it is done, probably in a few weeks. The oil pump O ring does not appear to be leaking, it looks as though the front seal is.
