Hi guys, I am processing to renew all brakes pistons as the check before registration identified lack of efficiency of the system. And to my surprise no emission problem.
No issue on the rear drums, but for the front, after I have removed the warn hubs, I don' know how to continue.
Is there a special process to remove the big nut, as I can see those small metal parts attached to the nut on picture 2.
Thanks. Pascal

You get a flat screw driver and push those tabs back. It's just a lock to keep the big nut from walking.

...also depending on the year I think you need a 2 inch socket (51mm). You can also use a chisel and hammer to loosen the nut but suggest getting the socket to put it back on.

if just doing brake work, no need to remove the hub assembly, the drum should come off the hub assembly, it may need some persuasion.

It is a 78 piggie, but aussie pigs had drums in front, so I think it is the same as earlyer (pré 75) in North American market. does it change anything?
