Im having my 2000 LX with 190k miles on the clock regeared and was thinking about changing the diff bushings while I’m in there. It looks to me like the only way to get the front bushing is to buy it with the diff cover. Is this correct? It looks like the rear bushing only comes as part of the support arm too.

I replaced the arm and bushing on the driver side diff tube last year so it’s good to go and I won’t be replacing that. I replaced it because i thought it had some movement but I’m really not so sure that it was bad.

So I have two questions:

1). Can these bushings be purchased separately?

2). Considering the age of the truck I figured I would replace the bushings since I’m removing the diff cover anyway, even if they looked ok. Is that advisable or would that be a waste of money? What do you guys think?

Cliff notes: You can buy the front diff bushing setup separate from the cover. It's easiest to replace if the cover is off. The support arm bushing only comes as part of the support arm. You might as well replace every bushing you can.

Long version: Front diff bushing replacement?
Thanks! I dont know how I missed that. I called myself searching:doh:

All three bushings can be replaced separately. Admittedly, if your having the gears replaced, it will literally be a 10 minute job for them to press out both of the bushings you haven't replaced since the diff will be out of the vehicle. It is definitely doable with it in the vehicle, but more time consuming. I did all three of mine two months ago.

What bushings did you go with?

I used febst bushings for those. If I was to do it again I would buy the torque arm one as a whole and replace it verse pressing a bushing in and out of that one, just my opinion.

I just order this last week. Febest tab-331 through tab-335
