It's called Styrene. That's pretty much all I can tell you about it

I tried to google it and post a link, but didn't find anything good to describe it. You can buy it a hobby stores.

he should show more on how the styrene is made into the components....I believe that a mold is made and then vacuum formed. Would be cool to see how its done.

You can see that he is building the pieces up from multiple layers of sheet stock, sanding things down, and using body filler. Vacuum-forming is one way of doing it, but that is not what he is using.

thats wild. I would think that it would be difficult that way, but more cost effective for one off stuff. must take alot of time! thanks for teh reply

For the vacuum-forming, you need something to mold to start with. So you have to make a model of it by hand anyway. Since the vacuum-forming produces a shell, the "buck" could be anything - clay, wood, or built up like he is doing. I've seen things made in styrene, a mold is made of the styrene model, then a buck is cast from that mold.
