I'm pretty happy with how it sits so far. She still needs longer OME shocks so travel isnt limited. Only a trail ride will tell. I think the alignment needs to be tweaked too. It seemed to be darting a little on the short drive I took.

I finally got some time in on ODIE and got the rear channel done and tailgate back on.
Started by cleaning up the floor sheetmetal. Then rosette welding up the extra holes in the rear channel support and drilling holes/mounting the center hinge.

Then I drilled the rear channel for the center hinge using the rear channel support as a guide and then welded the rear channel to the rear channel support. then I hung the tailgate and mocked everything up and used the tailgate to locate the outer hinges. Drill again.

Next up, pull the tailgate again, bolt up the rear channel and support, and rosette weld/grind down welds for the rear channel to the rear channel support and the rear bed. I used a die grinder wheel to grind down the welds so as to not cause any excess heat or warpage.

Looking goood Mike!!!

BTW...that is the best kind of load testing, and if you need an extra couple hundred pounds, I'm always up for ice cream :D

The Oldsmobile front wheel cylinders that the PO used angled the rubber brake hose down into the knuckle. The angle was so bad that they finally wore through from rubbing on the knuckle, losing my brakes at FG2012. I crimped the line off with vice grips and drove home on 3 wheel brakes. I had duplicate hoses made at a local store hoping I could bend the fittings up enough to stop the rubbing, but that didnt work. So, I sent a set of original wheel cylinders to apple hydraulics for a sleeve job. I bought new toyota rubber hoses, and I stole the original copper brake lines off of #6 and put it all on ODIE. While I was waiting for parts, somehow, crud got stirred up and trapped in the fuel line too. I blew out the line today with air and finally got her running again. I also got all of the original parts installed and now have a running, stopping fj25 again. :)
