Just to be clear...

They DO NOT line up with the rivet holes from your original towers. You will need to drill new holes OR weld them on.

You will probably want to use a wheel with less backspacing than 3.5". The F250 towers angle outward which has caused my 35 x 12.50s to rub the shocks very heavily when flexed. I hope to find a pair of 1" spacers to minimize this rub.

Good luck

I bought mine from the Ford dealer in NZ - have you tried a local dealer - just give them the part no and they should be able to order them in...

yeah mate I've tried the ford dealer here where I live & they say they can't get them.

Rub issue....

Cut a slit on both sides where the bend starts, heat the back side and bend it upward to get it more straight up & down.... followup by welding scab plates over the side cuts......

stock vs ford shock towers

Not to hijack the thread but, IF you do go with the Ford towers do you have to buy different shocks being they allow for more travel?

its probably advisable as the current shocks could be too short. i used it as an opportunity to get some of these:

Chop the ford tower off at the bottom of the top mounting hole when stock length shocks are to be used.....

Ok now its my question, its nice to use ford tower shock, give more travel,on SOA or SUA...but what about the rear shocks ? any options to be equal in travel ? what did you guys use or made to have longer travel shocks ? I made this ? cos i´m reading a lot before i decide to go SOA or SUA 4 " on 40.

Welded on is best......

IF you flip your front springs and are running a 60 series steering box, you CAN NOT use the Ford towers on the driver side (no room with the box mounted). Need to you some round stock and fab up a mount to fit (FYI for people with that set up)

Have a pic? If I used my old ford tower, I would have had ot cut it right in half to mount it over the steering box.

Welding a gusset to a bolted on piece would seem silly to me too... just weld the tower itself on. that is the best way to mount it... and no gusset is needed on that tower

I agree, I was merely thinking of the advantages of triangulation strength at pratically zero weight gain or cost.

I snapped some of a couple of rigs here at the moment... one is an FJ60 box, the other is a Scout...

I'll upload them later... on dial up here at the shop.

What is probably the difference is that I turn the mount on the axle housing around... shifts the shock back some...IIRC I have done it without moving the mount... but I prefer to do it this way.

Here is one version, it has a shackle reversal w/flipped springs. the PS box is spaced off 3/4" off the frame. The shock mount has a 3/8" spacer behind it to give a little room at the box. The u-joint on the steering shaft clears as well. Haven't put a shock on it yet to see how much it will rub. Got to find one that fits first...

I could see if you had a low profile S/R there could be fitment issues, but you might have to move the box forward on the frame too, creating a little more clearance.

maybe it is the SR that helped with the ford shock tower. FOr me, it wouldn't. I'll snap a few picks or look here for a pic (I think) https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-seri...ring-done-thanks-all-helped-free-ujoints.html

you can get the idea with post number 4. Look at the bump stop. directly below and a bit to the front would be the shock mount. I probably could have flipped the lower mount, but it still would not have been a straight shot to the top of the tower.
