This guy in Opelika just posted on the Alabama Overland page advertising his sliders.Anybody have any sliders for sale or know where I might find some without having to pay the big bucks and have them shipped from Oregon or CA? Would like to find something with some sort of outer tube to act as a step for my kids. I'm in Birmingham. Thanks.
Thanks! Looks like he mostly does Sequoias, but they look pretty good. I messaged him to see if he can do a set for an 80. I'll post here if he can. I would think that others would be interested. Thanks for posting here. I checked with him, and his plans have changed, so it didn't work out. I appreciate the heads-up though.
I haven't heard back from AXE Offroad directly, but I see through some other posts on Alabama Overland that he would be interested in working some up for 80's (or probably 60's, BamaHeel), but he just needs someone to leave a truck with him for design. I don't know how long he would need it, but mine is my DD, so I would have a hard time with this. Maybe someone else could give theirs up for a while?...I would be interested

I sent him wheel to wheel measurements and some pictures of cat protection done by MetalTech, White Knuckle and Slee. He said he would take a look and let me know what pricing looked like. He thought he could do some work ahead of time so that he would only need a vehicle for maybe a weekend to complete the design and build of the first set. I'm still not sure when I can let mine go for even a weekend, but it seems much more doable and something I may be able to work out once I get more specifics. He knows 80’s and did a lot of work on mine way back in the day. Dude has some flat out beautiful welds...
