your priceis pretty high for just a rolling chassis. i paid 800 for my extra one, and it had a 78 2f, 4spd to 3spd case.

just high IMOP.

spence

there is over 3300 in NEW factory toyota parts in this, and the labor included, yea I have paid 250 for a whole vehicle,,, so the deals are out there, but here you can see what has been done

IIRC a saginaw box plus the plate will run near 500$

it is a great starting point

I'm very interested. Any more pix? Phone number?

FJ40 project vehicle in GA $300 PICS ADDED

I really can't find the time to put this together. This is the same rig I had at 3 pits swap meet earlier this year. What $300 will get you is:
70 stock rolling chassis with stock driveshafts
70 tub, hood, fenders, bib, windshield--no glass, rough! no VIN plate
85 mintruck front axle with discs hub to hub
70 radiator, heater, etc
78 bucket seats (rough) with brackets

I also have the following for sale for best offers:
2/2F Spector cam, new; has some surface rust on journals but not lobes
78 4 speed trans, US model
75 transition gear 16 spline for 3 speed TC
05 Tundra 16 x 7 steel wheels, new take offs, to clear disc calipers
73 doors with glass and regulators, rust holes on the inner bottoms
bellhousings, misc parts.

I have stuff on a trailer already to go so I can deliver in GA if you pay my gas.

82 FJ40 for sale or trade in Las Vegas

I have an 82 FJ40 with 33" tires, 4" lift, new frame, aluminum tub, complete roll cage, conv. top, roof rack, swing-out bumper with spare tire and cooler rack, rebuilt original 2F engine, new radiator, electric fan, extra hood, 4 speed, Snorkel, Winch... For Sale or trade for a daily driver. I have over $22K in this vehicle, completely rebuilt from the frame up 3 years ago. Unfortunately, I have even more money in my wife...and it's the FJ 40 or my wife. Had to think about it for a bit. I need a vehicle capable of carrying tools and a ladder. Something comparable to my FJ in value and utility.

Damn. Oh well. Yeah that thing was sweet. A rare find I must say. Well congrats on selling it. What are you going to get next?

Any problems importing it to the US and getting registered here?

I took some pics, but decided not to post because all it shows is a pile of parts. The body would be to strip for parts and then junk. rough is rough. the frame is straight with minimal surface rust but even with the pics, the prospective buyer would rely on close visual inspection that the pics just can't deliver. Come on down and take a look. I sent Josh my cell # via PM. Anyone else just PM me.

next?

Hmmm... I'm torn between an HJZ80 and a later (79 or newer) 40. But my real goal behind selling it is for the eventual move to Panama(3-4 years) just put all my $$ in investments. I decided I'd just buy a diesel cruiser down there.I've still got my FJ62 so I'm not cruiserless. :)

Doc, No problems, Search in intl section, there is a thread on importing and another fellow listed an importer in a previous bj70 thread here in the sale section.

Good luck it looks like a fine BJ
