Wow what a sweet looking rig. Nice find for sure. A clean low mile LC with all the toys/equipment added for the trails. We now need to see some dirt on the rig. Lol

Thanks for all the replies!

i often wonder, does the ride become more harsh with those super beefy springs?
Actually its not that far off from the OME set-ups we have installed on other 80's. Its definately not the stock suspension which was very worn when I got it, but not stiff like running the 850's and 864's on a stock vehicle.

Did I miss the part where you regard to 5.29? ;)
5.29 Nitro Gears in the works, will go in at the same time as the ARB Lockers.

What is the plan for the rear bumper? This build looks awesome
Right now the plan is a rear ARB bumper with swing out tire carrier and Jerry can holder.

Looks good, and I like your taste in mods, but man that thing sure needs some wheel spacers and longer control arms!

Looks a little off with the wheels no longer centered in the wheel wells. Do you have any plans to correct for that?
I hate wheel spacers but agree... I think the rear is fine because as the suspension compresses it centers the tire in the wheel well, and the front needs something... thinking possibly Y-Linking it. Not sure yet.

I see you joined back in 2007, is this a build since then or did you just break a record for going from stock to hella not stock in 2 days. Those 37's look so good on that truck. Nice job, are you going to DD as well?

I did join in 2007, to communicate with the local club here via PM's (copperstate cruisers) regarding clean-up events and other events. I recently sold my Tacoma and replaced it with the 80, since deep down I always wanted one. I am the owner of Sierra Expeditions, and I have been putting off posting my build until I became a sponsor of MUD (in the works). I have had the 80 for about 1 month or so and have cross posted my build thread on over here from Expedition Portal to see if any other great ideas pop up as it is built.

Man, that is a nice build! I too was thinking of how you went from zero to 100 in such a short time, mod wise! Me, being a family man, I have to space out my mods as finances can allow. Right now, I am spaced out through 2020.

MetalTechs have been on order... waiting... for them to also install the OBA set up sitting on the shelf.

Has that thing ever even seen dirt?
Not yet, it's planned to on its maiden voyage next weekend, still working out the kinks before it hits the trail.

What kinks?
Oh just go get the thing dirty already , instead of parking it in front of the mall all the time.:flipoff2:

That mall is our shop.

I have two kinks right now,
1) front driveshaft is getting rebuilt (adding double cardian)
2) front arm bolt (one inbound) has Mickey moused solution from Ace Hardware)

Looking good Wil!

Where are you planning on mounting the ExtremeAire Magnum? Did you powder coat your wheels? How you planning on getting your kids way up in the backseat? :)

Did you ever figure out a wiring solution to get power to the roof rack?

Also - are you planning on running the air lockers with the ExtremeAire compressor?

I am thinking it will fit nicely on the MetalTech Slider tray thing... Will figure out that once they get in.
Did you powder coat your wheels?
Nope, $5 duplicolor wheel paint rattle can. the previous own painted the wheels and it had runs in it, so no loss adding another coat in a different color.

Its actually pretty easy. The 2 month old goes in the middle of the back seat and we have the bases that lock into the carrier. I load him in over the 4year old's booster seat. My 4 year old daughter needs a boost and she climbs right in.

No, but I kind of like this solution here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-...best-way-80-any-snorkel-runs.html#post6558966
Also - are you planning on running the air lockers with the ExtremeAire compressor?
Yup, no need for two compressors.

Sweet ride there.

Now go use it for what you built it for soon and enjoy it.

everybody just wants you to dent it up so they can stop being jealous.

Knowing Wil from ExpeditionPortal he definitely puts his trucks and gear through their paces!
It'll get used, don't worry about that.
This was my Tacoma:

Dude! Did you make through that water crossing?

Awesome picture :steer:

Awesome, I love that some folks were all but figuring you for a total poser and you throw a photo out that shows you doing a crossing that would scare the pants off of most guys. Nice.
