Fj73 fuel tank

Hi have an fj73 with a fuel tank that has rusted from the inside out. I'm trying to get a replacement tank but Toyota don't sell them anymore. Most Wreckers don't have any in stock. Do any other land cruiser tanks fit??

All the shorty 70 fuel tanks are the same or you could use the rear tank from any hj/hzj75 hdj79. The only difference may be the fuel pick up unit as the later may have a return fuel line.

Would a BJ74 tank fit? Aside from diesel with a return line, the truck is built the same.

I would just block the return line but you could also remove your pick up unit and fit it to the tank you find.

These guys make nice stuff, if it wasn't the same cost to ship it home as it is to buy
I would have a Long Range tank from them already. They should be able to help. I looked up your
location, so I guess you are in the northern part of Aus?

Yeah I'm on a small island in gulf of Carpentaria but it's classed as the Northern Territory in Australia.

Thanks for the help with the other vehicle types this will broaden my search.

That looks very neat! Arnhem Land and the Gulf are quite high on my to do list.

As has been said, 70 series troopy and ute rear tanks are the same, shouldn't be hard to find one of those!

Also on the dash there is a light that flash's up BRAKE when I hit a bump or rut hard. What's that about?

Could be the mastercylinder is low on fluid or you may have a short when hitting pot holes.
