UPDATE (3 year old bump)
for those considering using the FJ62 radiator's integrated oil cooler for a FJ60 PS cooler:

For best power steering performance, 176º F is the MINIMUM operating temperature recommended by the FSM for Dextron ATF used in the FJ60 power steering pump.

The coolant temperature at the BOTTOM of the radiator (at it's coolest) is definitely much cooler (certainly more than 14º cooler) than the 190º F thermostat controlled coolant flowing into the TOP of the radiator.

Bottom Line: The FJ62 integrated oil cooler will easily prevent the FJ60 PS fluid from getting "too hot"... and to boot it will prevent it from running consistently too cold on cool days as well.

I agree with OutputShaft - if you aim an IR thermometer at your lower radiator hose at full engine temp, it's frequently around 160. I think the in-radiator cooler for power steering is a clever idea for FJ60 owners to add a little extra cooling capacity.

FJ62 owners, however, will need this cooler for the transmission, along with an aftermarket cooler.
