FJ62 Shut off while driving for no apparent reason... Fusible Link?

My 62 (with 12ht) runs nice for over 10000km but it has turned off while driving twice, no dash lights, acc or anything besides my fitted day running lights & hazards.
After about 5 minutes it all comes back. Everything seems tight, would/could the ignition barrel switch be the cause? Or self resetting circuit breaker cause this, a main relay being dodgy?
Please help

yup, hazards worked and nothing else...same motor as me, same symptoms as me...shut off was scary AF right?!? My fusible link was bad, now it's replaced and the truck doesn't do mystery shutoffs going around a corner. If your truck is 24v like mine, be sure to get a 24v fusible link.

Years go I was driving my car down the interstate when it it just went full dead out of nowhere. engine shut off, no tach, no dash lights, no radio...just a rolling hunk of metal. I rolled to the side of the interstate. Somehow I got a tow ( this was before I had a cell phone i think so I can't remember how I got a tow...but got to the next town and luckily where there was a Saab shop. They had a bunch of parts cars and they let me pull a positive power cable.. I replaced it and all was well. That was the only time I've ever experienced a fully dead car due to sudden cable failure. But it sure gets your attention if/when it happens.

The 62 has a power outlet between the air filter mounts and when it stopped there was no voltage on either the Batt, Acc or ig posts.
While I'm waiting for a reply I might disable the vacuum shut off and re crimp all the things on the positive post on battery.
I can jump a wire to the power outlet and car powers up too.
Edit : I think I found the cause, must have been a loose connection causing thermal breakdown, it must cool them reconnect but not fully. And I assume the fusible link is the other end of plug to the battery.

aloha Jen, a local made it up for me in Okinawa before I moved. However, there is a vendor on Mud here that is a whiz with making all sorts of unobtainium parts to include fusible links. @ToyotaMatt is the guy!

broken wires were the culprit on mine too, but under the insulation so you couldn't see it.

dude !

u have total THERMO NUCULAR MELT DOWN going on in your hand

that's TOAST 100% and needs remedy repair replace

i would NOT drive the truck till this is repaired by the FSM

u can FULL field your alternator and well smack starts to add up and over the relm of your current understanding perhaps ?

u have issues beyond that melted grey 3 pin terminal in your hand ?

u need to carefully pull back harness tape at least 8 -10 inches and confirm and verify this stops at a distance from the grey connectors ?

is this a HJ or BJ

She's a FJ62 cab & loom on a HJ61 chassis,
I think the spade connector was loose causing it to heat up (I've temporarily tightened it) , the wires felt cool when I loaded the system up, the fusible links got warm.
But that other wire in the Pic with a crack in the insulation comes from the alternator and when I loaded the system up the nut & bolt that connects that to the fusible link gets really hot.
Since tightening the melted one up the volt gauge in the dash is very stable compared to before.
Fear not I will be checking the wires into the loom and replacing the plug with a better current rated one and reuse the links if I can.
The 12ht should require less to run, it's only the shut off solenoid which is powered from the old coil wire .
I'm just glad I found the issue.
