Hi all, I have previous threads about having stalling issues and others said to replace the battery, the terminals, and the cables. I replaced the positive fusible link, and the entire negative battery line along with terminals and battery. I drove it afterwards with headlights, radio, heat, and used blinkers with zero issues. Went to drive it today and as I was letting it heat up it began to stall after about 5 minutes idling. The alternator was replaced in 2020 and I’m at a loss since this is intermittent. In the summer I drove it all the way from NJ to CT with not a single issue so this is very frustrating! Here is a video of what happened after I tried to turn it on again after it stalling out-notice the brake and battery light turn on and you can kind of hear the car. Any help is appreciated!!

hmmm. google isnt letting me the video. can u add it to your post? maybe check my post immediately after yours. mine says "solved"

After doing a deep forum dive and youtube dive it seems like it might be the fuel pressure regulator or the fuel pump and fuel filter... Can anyone help explain what each of these is and if replacing one will in a way cover all of them, meaning like if i replace fuel pump, do i need to replace fuel pressure regulator etc.? Also, if anyone knows the part number for these, especially the FPR which i've heard is hard to find that would be great!

Pretty sure I had a FPR fail and it didn’t keep the engine from running, just didn’t run great. Obviously if a pump isn’t delivering correctly that’s an issue. I have a few posts here on checking fuel pressure, highly suggest installing a gauge to measure versus guessing.

Do you have a factory service manual?
It has LOADS of useful test procedures for almost all components in the fuel injection system. Great tool to get if your gonna own and operate an FJ62.

It is where I would go to start eliminating problems to track down this issue.

I don't have a factory manual I can't find any online either so if you know of one that'd be great!

Could you link those posts to do testing for the FPR? It's hard to tell if its the fuel pump or the FPR. The truck will work fine one day, then the next day it will stall in idle, or stall under load when i push the pedal, yet it will start cold fine, but then have issues starting hot intermittently. Thought it was the battery and battery lines and rebuilt the fusible link and still the same intermittent issue. I saw a video of how to replace the fuel pump and it looks pretty tedious with taking off the gas tank.
