winch

ok for just a little update...
i went to upstate ny to pick up a 'used' winch. the key issue here is the 24volts
800kms+ in one trip, stoped a few times, had a hard time finding buddys place... my buddy (syco) came along for the drive. the whole trip was basically a 11-12hour continous run. a nice test to see how thing work.

...just a little over kill

i need to make a new winch mount now since the 18k is quite a bit larger then the 12k i currently have. while im at it, im going to make a heavy duty winch bumper since i have to make a new winch mount. fun

i got some new belts from toyota, i got multi-fuel fuel line to run bio diesel. i also need to get my rad modified again for the bottom hose is to close to power steering pulley. this should be installed this week hopefully, and i can get some bio for next weekends trip up north!

if i calculated right my last mpg report is 16.9 for the last 855kms on 119L of diesel
250km of those was city driving

so far ive put 3000kms(in less then a month) on the motor since the swap, im am quite happy with the results so far. diesel is about 80cents/L so i getting twice out of my tank as i did with the 3fe

sh!t eating grin

4. i went offroading this week end, to really test her out

i ran awesome this weekend and i am very satisfied with the diesel motor. i was awesome offroading, i picked all the hardest lines and i did really well :P still at a steady 17mpg or 650km per tank of mix highway/city/offroad

Your fuel calculations figures are fine if they are in US gallons.

this is the calculator i use
MPG Calculator Calculate Fuel Consumption / Efficiency in Miles per Gallon

-i filled up with 70L of bio diesel (b100) the other nite
-noticed a fairly big drop in black smoke
-received rebuilt injectors x6 and new priming pump from 4wheelauto.com
-picked up my new 35x12.5 kevlar MTRs
-bumper just need a final coat (or3) of flat black for looks

I was minding my own business when . . . .

I happened to meet have the need to be in Orillia on Friday afternoon, so I decided to take my newly repainted BJ42 for a run.

As my buddy and I were just about to leave . . . .

I saw a s*** faced grin from about a mile away . . . . I don't know who was more surprised - two diesel cruisers in the same parking lot.

Hope you had a great weekend!!!
