Does anyone happen to know what bearings an FJ62 alternator uses? I had a sad bearing noise coming from the front of the engine, and I thought I had it narrowed down to the smog pump. I rebuilt the smog pump with a new bearing in the front (quite an adventure, by the way, as it's not meant to be rebuilt...). The bearing in the smog pump was pretty smoked, but it wasn't the source of the noise. So the only thing left is the alternator, as everything else in the front end drive has been replaced.

I'd like to order the bearings ahead of time.

I have a new OEM bearing somewhere in my parts stash, I’ll check the number tonight if nobody gets it for you by then.

Did you use the “wd40” on the bearing, or the long screwdriver stethoscope method to pinpoint the noise?

Does “everything” include the idler/tension pulley bearings? Mine made a helluva racket before I replaced them.

90099-10110 super'd to -> 90099-10142 end frame Alt bearing, which is probably a 6303 2RSC3 type, but not sure about the standard number.

90099-10116 Rotor Bearing which is a 6201 2RS type

Yup, thought I narrowed it down to the smog pump, but must have been telegraphing up.

Yeah, those are all new and it's definitely coming from the left (as if you're sitting in the vehicle) side of the engine bay.

Rotor bearing = front bearing (nearest fan) and end-frame = rear?

Yes. the 10142 is the one in the frame next to the fan, but Toyota calls it the 'bearing for end frame' in EPC 🤷‍♀️

RockAuto has reboxed NTN if you search under that part number. Used to be reboxed made in Japan but I haven't bought for a while.

I can confirm if you fire those part numbers into Rock Auto, you will get a "BCA" branded box with NTN bearings inside. Pretty simple job to replace the bearings.

I know I stock a nice kit with both bearings, brushes and springs for the 2F alt, I am pretty sure they are the same for 3FE alt but need to confirm. If not I’ll put together some kits for that one too since that alt is NLA as of a semi-recently unfortunately. :(
