well we know what to do when someone ask if they should get an 80 or a 60.....post a pic of that..

Maybe this was factory Toyota. They have a way of transitioning from series to series. Let me see, 60 series truck with a 2F engine, headlights from a early 90-91'ish FJ80, grille and emblem from a post 94 FZJ80. Hmmm, I'm sure there's got to be a few 62 series parts in there as well. The early FJ80 lights look cool with the jumping bean in the sombrero, although it would probably look even better with the TOYOTA across the grill like my 92! Everyone knows the 94 and earlier grilles were the best! Heh heh. ;) Some guy working in the Araco Factory had a large tool box and spirited away parts over a long period of time, while building this rig, like the Cadillac guy in the Johnny Cash song. It's an 80, 81, 82, 83, 84 ,85 ,86, 87, 88, 89 automobile, it's a 90, 91, 92, 93,......

I llike it..Looks like it coulda been factory. Someone did some nice work. Anyone know about the Australian cobra alloy wheels that were on it? Cool find.
hurricane wheels....used to be real common...i've had a few friends that had them....they're a pita to clean up.

this reminds me of an idea i've had bouncing around in the back of my mind. i have a 45LV and an FJ60. I love to fact that the FJ45LV has the hood and fenders of a 40, but the room of a waon. On the other hand, a 60 is much nicer to drive, nicer interior, and more modern and comfortable. Also, the Stillen (spelling?) 45LV was wider, longer, etc then a 45LV...they did a ton of body work to fit the skin of a 45LV around a 100 series.

what am i getting at? i wonder how hard it would be to put the hood and fender from a 40 series on the front of a 60? might have to widen/lenghten the hood a lilttle... but that's not too hard. the hard part, i think... would be the corners where the fenders and hood meet the A pillar (look at a 45LV... they have this really cool curving body work there).

just an idea.

a modernized poor man's 45LV... kinda.

Clean up?? That's what rain is Fer.

Ya- That's a good point, I hadn't thought that far ahead. So same as hurricans- Thanks

I like it. I notice it's from Indonesia-it had to be from somewhere where hand labor is very cheap. I think outside the US many 80's had the dual headlamps, and the 80's still made in Venezuela have(or had until recently) the dual lamps.

Pretty cool. I still like the round headlights on a 60, but that is some great work.

That's what I was wondering - If it was a preproduction 80, concept thing. I guess it would have a 3F rather than a 2F though.

Me no like new Toyota symbol. Never have. Looks too cultish to me. What's with those three ovals, anyway? Makes me think of the mysticism behind the Subaru emblem, and I hate Subarus.

I also noticed that part of the pic by the upper fender on the pas side. I just assumed it was the way it had to be done for everythign to fit sometimes when doing custom stuff not all lines are parallel. It amazes me what a good body shop person can do with some time and desire!
