Sweet Rig

Man if my 2 vehicles would sell I would fly cross country to buy yours. I doubt they sell before yours is gone.

I am actually secretly hoping I find a great 60 on the west coast so I can have a little adventure getting it home (Alabama).

Just bought my wife a used 99 Suburban with the same motor. Runs really good and hauls her land yacht around really nice. I can only imagine how well it gets your 60 going. High school buddy had a fj62. It couldn't keep up with its own shadow.

Would you be willing to pick a buyer up from LAX and then maybe to the closest bank (might be safer to travel with travelers checks rather than 5.5K)?

Will the rust on the roof/gutters need attention or have you cleaned up / stopped it with the primer?

I may have missed something (tried to read all of the posts and linked posts), is the bumper in the pick above a modofied version of the one your originally built?

Good luck with the sale. Cool sculpture too!!

Slick17255 - Hey man. No problem picking up at any local airport (I work night shift). Rust on roof was all cut out and patches were welded in. There is now some surface rust coming through the primer. I have a can of "made-to-order" spray paint that I had planned on cleaning up the gutters a little. I may still do that over the next weeks/days.

Traveler's checks are definitely safer, but you'd need to cash them before you buy it :)

I had built one bumper (the one in the first photo), then I had a fender bender and it was, well, bent. I sold that one to someone here (CruisinFJ60) and he's running it now. I made a newer "improved" version that is currently on the rig with a warn winch.

cheers,
shane.

New compressor would be around $200 (not counting labor and a flush/fill). I replaced the drier, expansion valve, and had the condenser cleaned when the A/C was originally hooked up. It runs on R134.

Fan could be just a resistor or something else small (I haven't investigated yet). I will likely have at least the fan working over the next weeks.

To summarize, I'd say less than $500 if you paid someone to do it. Much less if you do it yourself. If you're really serious, I can take a deposit (non refundable) and get it handled so that it's ready to go.

Let me know if you want to take it for a test spin.

Don't want to dick you around but I'm gonna think about it one more day and then let you know how serious I am. Thanks

Cool, let me know whenever.

cheers.
