Fishing was fairly good. You probably know where we were from the pics on this thread:

We got into a bunch that were 5-6 lbs, no really big ones this time around. Weather was crappy for Monday and Tuesday, but was great on Wednesday. We even saw a water spout send an angler flying on Tuesday...really weird. Lots of fun on my 2wt and 4wt and 6x tippet though. :D

As far as the settings on your 13BT...should be the same as mine, therefore probably set up for sea level since it's from Japan. I thought there was an altitude compensator on these things...and I probably wouldn't adjust the fuel settings unless you have a pyro hooked up. I'm probably going to be hooking up a pyro and boost gauge fairly soon...thinking about pumping up my boost a little.

I did install an EGT and probably won't mess with my fuel too much. I may install an intercooler in the near future, but we'll see if I need it after pulling the drift boat around a few times. I really want to get the best fuel economy possible.

Nice to hear you are using 12 volts, keep it simple. Did you fab your throttle cable? or is it out of a parts truck? Have you had any luck with temp, oil pres. , Tac yet? Also, is there a need for a Vacum resivor? I see in the diesel cruisers they have a tank to hold a vac charge. Just trying to make a list of everything that needs to be done to weigh my pros & cons of a swap. Trying to justify it is pretty tough so far, but that extra 6-7 mpg will add up. Thanks for the great info.

Panama:

I kept the throttle cable from the BJ74 from which the motor came. If you don't go that route, you can get a throttle bracket from either a BJ or HJ60 and then use the system you have on the FJ. Check out Stickboy's setup for more detail.

All of my gauges work, including speedo (5 mph off), oil pressure, and tach. No wiring issues whatsoever.

As for justification it was pretty simple for me. I wanted better fuel economy and the ability to run biodiesel, but I wanted to keep the cruiser for the room and 4WD. Going the Toyota route was definitely expensive, but I wanted to KNOW that it would last, I didn't want to lift the truck, and I liked the idea of keeping it all Toyota. As you can tell from this site their are a number of cheaper options that would work, depending on your goals. If you want to get into more detail about my swap, send me a pm.

And yes, I did install a vacuum reservoir I got from Stickboy. If you go with a manual shift t-case you can avoid a bunch of wiring and vacuum issues.
