Saw a two tone, white/blue 55 today passing through Duncan. Seemed to be having trouble, lots of smoke out the tailpipe. Anyone know who owns it? Looked like body in good shape. Not fancy, just a stocker.

Saw it at the tire store Thursday white and green, looks good..

He apparently got some new tires . When I built that 55 the previous owner had some tsl's on it . They were horrible on the road . He's had a few things come up since the 12ht was installed but overall he's pretty happy I think . I have some pics of the install if anyone is interested . I used a complete steering column and power steering box from a 62 . Integrated the wiring from the column to the 55 harness . I bet it's the only 55 with intermittent wipers and as close as you can get to factory power steering around here .

Well, if his intermittent wipers work he's ahead of me. Yeah, the tires were brand new when I saw it. Is it an H55F? Is the owner the guy from the tire shop or someone else? Did you convert to 12V, seems to me you would have, just asking.
With the power steering box did it effect the shock locaton/mount..12ht in a fj55 is a nice setup..
So it is Jay the Vet then, figgered there wouldn't be two nice 55's in chemainus...

Was going the other way on highway, so no chance of a spy pic.

I managed to keep the shock tower in the stock location . Had to trim it a bit . I looked but i couldn't find any good pictures of that part . Ended up using all stock parts from various years/models to make it work . I didn't have to cut or weld anything Looks pretty stock up close .
