OK, I have searched through about 40 threads, checked the FAQ, but can't find the answer. I found some pics of each installed and they look the same to me. Is the power steering box from an FJ40 that same as a power steering box from an FJ55?

I dont think it will be any god to you, without modifying mounts, similar to what you have to do to fit hilux parts. Pick it up, and when you find its no good to you, I'll be happy to take it off your hands![]()
Quick follow up to this comment.I do not think it is the same, sorry. I know several people who put 55 series power steering into 40 series in the States, and it required altering the bracket in the same way that the Hilux box requires.
Remember too that the power steering box from a factory power steering 40 series will not bolt directly in to a factory non-power steering 40 series rig either: the steering column is shorter for the power steering box. Additionally, the HJ47 never came factory with power steering in Australia (only the FJ45, FJ40/BJ42 came with it here), so make sure that it is actually a 40 series box.
Cheers,
Josh
