The mirrors sitting on the fender in post #11 look like the ones on my '69 and '74. The only difference would be the diameter of the mirror. The '74s are about a half inch bigger than the '69s. I know this because I had new mirror glass cut to fit the '74s and they won't fit the '69. I just measured the '74 mirror glass and it is 5 1/2".

Yeah, I know, trivial redundant info but I was bored. ;)

No harness at all?

have you thought of snatching the harness from the truck you wrecked out along with the dash switchs ad transplanting?

Butch

i did find some strands going to the fuse block that are cut under the dash, and there's a section of rear lighting harness that is hard as a rock. when we pulled the engine out of the wrecked 77, we tried to salvage as much as the harness as we could (whole left side was gone...wedged in with fender maybe....crunched at 60+mph, it was too hard to tell), but tonight i started piecing everything out. figured out on the areas that we had to cut where main portion of the wiring connected to fuse block, got starter, dist, coil and alternator wiring hooked up, used the hazard switch from the recent 76 and plugged it into the harness (and exchanged knob for the old knob), so it's a good start. there are wires here and there that we had to cut...no choice, so i'll have to figure out where those go, and figure out ignition (column vs. dash). i may try to salvage the 77 harness and just splice in a new section on the left where it was mangled/toasted. it would definitely be cool to bring the 45 to moab :^)

don't suppose you know how the regulator on the left side of the firewall wires up? i'll be studying the schematics tomorrow.

took this pic while i was out there. the little black switch left of the remains of the choke is a dome lite switch. i know it was from early cruisers, but not sure if it was just 40 softtop, or 45 also.

From what I can see of mine it looks like the pre 74 FJ40 crossmember, they have some big plates welded on to attach this bumper.

Just don't hit this board as often.

I also have the vent weatherstrip.

Bumperettes are stock for this model.

Threaded mirror arm holes under driver's side windshield hinge. Takes reinforcement plate and two-piece telescoping mirror arm, rectangular head mirror.

The small dome light switch Ige posted is the stock one. On some models, the switch was attached to a small accessory plate that mounted to the bottom of the dash, in the middle, like so:

I decided since I paid Woodman the money for the star I ought to use it... :flipoff2:
So what does the OEM dome light look like?
I swapped the rear axles over to the fine spline today, along with later brakes, fixin to start swapping the disc axle into the front......anyone want some 10 spline rears axles and side gears?

Missing one word can really screw up your intended message. What I meant to say is
