Peter, I know the troopys got soft tops, I am mainly talking about 63 to 67 lwb and swb pickups imported to the states. I know if you dont have a pic nobody will, you seem to have a huge collection of photos! This truck should definately get restored! I would love to add a soft top troopy to the collection someday, cheers Whitey

I've got '63 & '64 SWB fixed cab pickups and that bed overhang sure looks long to me but it might be the camera angle or maybe that the removable top p/u's just had a longer frame and the bed set further rearward w/out moving the rear axle(?)

Here's what a '63 fixed cab looks like...

Fixed top swb beds are different from the removable top model. They are all on the same 104 inch wheelbase.

Then that would help explain the extra overhang. IIRC the cab is about 3" or so longer on the removable top truck. If the bed length on both are the same then the wheel well would have been relocated and the overhang would be different.

So, not factory but still a soft top :hillbilly:. All you need is some canvas now...

:hhmm:

Maybe a few other bits too - Like a hood, windshield and frame, doors, lights, bezel, seats, gauges, bumper, rad, grill, aw hell rjcruisers is right - just sell it to me and get out while you can :grinpimp:.

Bed looks like it was made from a 40's tub. Has a hardtop lip all the way around and badges setup like a 40's.
removable top had that lip

Last pic in post 35 show the tiedown latch for the hard top and no corresponding hook on the door jamb. So a PO mod to add the soft top is most likely. I like the look - maybe I'll make one for myself.
