Others would know more than I but it looks to me like an early sixties long bed soft top?? The bed is of the short bed style (flat sides) but long which makes me think early sixties. And there is a door jamb riser and soft top bow in there. I can't tell if it had a column shift 3 spd which would also whisper early sixties. The bed is the most interesting thing to me - I wasn't aware that the long bed came in that flat side style. At least it looks long to me :hhmm:

It is a FJ45SWB removeable top pick up, by the looks of the license plate number somewhere around a late 64 early 65. What are your plans for it? Nice score. Check the VIN number on the pass, side front frame horn.

65 fj45swb

I guess it is confirmed, thanks for the input. It is a 65 FJ45SWB removable top. My plan is probably to sell it and make a couple bucks to finish my FJ40 project. What is this thing worth, how many are still around. The thing is pretty rough as you can see in the pics. Here are a couple more pics.

Are you going to part it out or sell it whole? If you decide to part it, I would like to be first in line for the tail light housings and lens, and clamps for the hard top. Where are you located?

Ah, yes. SWB. I didn't realize the length of bed behind the axle was that long on a SWB, thats what threw me off. There is almost as much overhang there as an LPB.

The very first pic in this thread shows what looks to me to be a bit of the upper rear door jamb with a soft top bow attached to the top of it. Its sitting parallel with the steering column. Would that mean a factory soft top? Was there such a thing?

Factory soft top would be . Especially in Cali.

Those are fj40 factory softop bows modified to fit the 45.In 20 years I have not seen or heard of a factory soft top for a 45.I actually did the same thing to my 45 a few years ago.If anyone can produce evidence of a factory soft top 45 I would love to see it.Also those front markers are not factory, they have been added...
