I will be flying back to Medellin, Colombia in a few days to purchase an FJ40 to ship into Miami. This will be my first attempt at this business. There are several FJ43s for sale over there. The issue is that most were used as rural taxis and are in rough condition. I plan to purchase one and have it restored locally before shipping it. Feel free to contact me.

I emailed him back and forth for months. He seems to be legit. Asked what options and years I was looking for. Sent large quantities of photos of specific vehicles, with details and closeups. Asked what price range I was interested in. At the end of the day, I was on the low range of the vehicles he brings in. Most of the vehicles he sells are in top condition and I wasn't willing to spend that much. He offered me a Colombian website similar to auto trader for me to browse and said if I see setting he will go check it out for me.

Ultimately, I found a clean 40 stateside, but still have the itch for a 43. Someday.

I just got back from Cali, and my advise to you is NOT to have the car restored there in Medellin. The labor cost is cheap, very cheap. But the quality of the work is a total disaster. I tried to have my Fj40 worked on in the best Cali repair shops and one was worst than the other. You have been warned. Good luck.

Dumb question... But do you have that Columbian website address you could post up here... I would like looking at the 43's as well...

Thanks in advance

hi guys,

you can have a look at the following websites:

www.tucarro.com.co

www.alamaula.com.co

www.fotocarro.com.co

and also www.trovit.com.co

If you find a nice vehicle and are looking for shipment, please contact me: sandergielen at gmail dot com (just to avoid spambots)

I'm looking for a very nice FJ43 soft top - http://carros.trovit.com.co/index.p...r/pos.1/section.1/section_type.1/page.1/pop.1

I have not imported a vehicle from Columbia so I need some information regarding what is required and what it costs.

nice FJ43

The car you found I took pictures of two days ago. It´s a 1980 model but with a 1982 dash......they destroyed the original dash to mount it. Real shame if you ask me. Paint job is not a good one. It has scratches all over and various of the instrumenst (lighter etc) don´t work. I have better ones I can offer you, but will send you pics of this one as well. I will send them to your email. Thanks for the PM, Sander
