I was looking at a pretty solid 40 in Louisiana a few weeks ago but someone else picked it up for $1500. Will be on the lookout.

Yea it broke my heart when he said someone came and picked it up.

The engine needed work and there was surface rust but even the hard top was in great shape.

hey guys... saw a great lookin forty on my back to columbus this evening.. took a ton of pics so i'll post them and the phone number.. the guys asking price is a little outrageous but it looked like a solid unmolested cruiser - must have been a factory soft top since it had the footman loops and the light/switch on the passenger dash - pics to come

i would need to hear it run/drive it otherwise anywhere from $1000-$5000 i didn't see under the hood but the oil pan looked to have been replaced.. doesn't mean much but there could have been other work on the motor...

if anyone wants to arrange it.. i'm really not that far and wouldn't mind going on a weekend to test drive it/take more pics and post back what i saw

rusty? i would have to disagree.. it might need a rear sill and some patches but that frame has slight surface rust and look at the inside of that truck.. the lip where the hardtop mounts looks mint.. no rust at all

i'm driving my brother to the airport today going that way.. i'll take some more pics
