Ok guys, this isn't an FJ40 but just his little brother, Toyota Blizzard/Daihatsu F20.
However, I can assure you that:
-the factory/stock motor is the same as in the Hi-Lux, the venerable 12R
-factory colour was the 309-Freeborn Red
-rims are stock (German market)
-factory 5spd and front disc brakes (excellent braking!)
-all three pics have been taken during the last century...

File these pictures under "shade tree mechanic" in Webster's dictionary!There is no way I can compete with "77CJ5". Here are a couple of boring photos from my archive: Starving students dropping rebuilt engine into 1965 FJ45 (on a city sidewalk!). Circa 1986. Chico, California. My friend still owns that FJ45, but these days it is in woeful condition in comparison to that seen in these photos. It currently resides near Alpine Meadows ski resort, but isn't seeing much use!
