Hey 78 One Owner.
How much did you pay for yours?
$10,000 new. It's paid me back many, many times that. :D

Scary bumper dude

Look at the front U-bolts and spring plates. Not very beat up. Hasn't had much worse than snow driving I bet. At least those body panels aren't cheeseplate--I mean checkplate.

run forest run! that 40 has all kinds of bad juju and mojo and poor PO work..........

new tub????? yeah sure buddy!

I like how when painted they didn't even bother to take the wipers or mirrors off................heck paint em to match.

What are all those holes going from the bottom of the door around to the top?

I paid $4500 for my 77. It needed some body work, and paint, but the engine was solid. I have since rebuilt the front axle for leaky selas, replaced the springs, shocks, replaced the Brake Master, new tires, - . . . . . Right now its a great cruiser that has nothing wrong with it except it doesn't have enough accesosries.

Are they fasteners for the body panels maybe?

At least it has the front passenger side bump stop!

I agree with Landpimp.

those are to hold the "new" "metal" (cough cough) tub to the rusted out body.......

dude stay away from it,for 4500 you could find a nicer cruiser.that thing looks like it was band-aided to death.then painted to cover up the evidence.turn and run.
or act like you know whats up and lowball him, cause its only worth 2000 at best.

Stay away! Those bolt / screw things look like they attach the "new body panels"...

Buy my cruiser instead...

71 FJ40... converted to floor shift, original motor (starts right up), trans replaced a while ago (I have receipts from the previous owner) DOES NOT LEAK! Weber carb, vacuum transfer case shifter works fine, warn hubs, it was red but the factory paint is way faded, scratched, touched up, etc. Hardtop and doors from a different cruiser ... 98.4% rust free... just a little in the panel under the rear doors. Rollcage, mystery bucket seats, factory gauges don't work, aftermarket gauges, Grant steering wheel. This really is a solid cruiser, could be a good deal. I'd like anything over $2500 but I'm negotiable.

Here you go... The pics make it look pink but it's just faded red...

If you really are interested please be aware that I am not trying to hide anything with this cruiser, I have not owned it for very long, I bought it as a project vehicle (paid WAY too much... don't ask) and since I started it I stumbled on a real nice clean 71 that I'm keeping, so I need to sell this one.

If you look close in the pics you can probably see that the bib is just sitting there. Not bolted in, I started disassembling it to sandblast and prep for paint or powdercoat. The finish on the headlight surround looks funny cause it's a few layers of primer sprayed over the original white, I have this piece almost completely sandblasted and would be ready for paint in about 1 more hour of work. The pic is about a week old. Did some blasting this weekend. My neighbors love me....

The fenders, especially the passenger side, are pretty well trashed. I'd replace them or cut them for rockcrawling. But they are VERY rough. The passenger side running board is gone, looks like it was wiped out by a tree or something. That's what did in the passenger fender.

Rollcage is welded to the tub. I thought this was wierd...

All 5 wheels are stockers. I have 4 factory hubcaps in very good (not perfect but real nice) condition.

The rear hatch does not stay up. Ask me how I know......

Rear tail lights are some funky pep boys things. It has only 1 bumperette....

electric fan and engine-driven fan.

Electric fuel pump, original blocked off.

Aftermarket ignition

Starts and runs very well. Good power, wheels (yes I have wheeled this, of course!) just fine.

Also has a set of 5 31x10.50x15 BFG Mud Terrains with about 25% tread.

Never titled it in my name (too lazy) but it's not a problem I can take care of that in a day.

Interested? My cell # is 602-768-3172
