FJ40 on FJ80 with 2UZ

This intrigues me. From my understanding the transmission behind the 2UZ should be same across the platform and the transfer cases are bespoke for each model so the transfer case from one should fit another. The only difference ive found so far is the spline count that I belive younwould have to change in the case to get to adapt to the transmission.

You've done the research so this is just info I need to store, ive considered building a 2002 4Runner with the drive drain out of a Sequoia to keep the ability to have 2wd but also the awd and center diff lock.

Toyota always surprises me.

I look forward to seeing how the build goes!

There is a company that can eliminate the need for an immobilizer and certain emissions requirement out of the ECU but I can't find them now googling.
Yes, many hours reading and looking at pictures!
LexusV8 Engines, LLC is who I have been communicating with for my harness. They told me what I needed and I have most of the things now.
I am thinking of keeping the immobilizer since I have all the components to make it work!

Do you have a thread on your wiper conversion on that mustard 40 with the 25 grille? Fantastic.
I have it in my thread here

I plan to do this again, so I need to see if I kept the measurements, but the connecting rods were all cut and hand fitted by trial and error.
I can do a better write up, but I had used pictures I found online to figure it out the last time.

Actually the grill is from a 1962 FJ40, and I put the chrome head light rings on....Dad use to have them on when he owned it back in the early 80s and I always liked the look. I am looking for another early grill, the one pictured is from Dad's 1961 he is working on now, the grill is all rusted on the back side and he has another one that is in better condition that he is using for his project.

Frame has lots of hole in it, the frame has been patched several times on passenger side front behind suspension and drivers side at the control arm.
Crazy since the rest of the truck is in nice shape for 2003. My son is selling off the parts if anyone is looking for anything for a Limited 4 Runner. Will be available as I get time to remove harness and things I need for swap.

Sitting next to my 87!

Going to get the front sandblasted so I can get the rust cleaned up inside the panels before adding in the new metal.
Made parts to replace rocker panels and fill in the floor.

I like the idea of keeping the pop out window. One day I plan to figure out how to make the smaller window on my 43 pop out like a '77-'84 40. I like my sliders, but you can't leave them open if you'd like to lock the rig; where the pop outs can really be left open with the rig relatively secure.

Yes, please! Would love to know dimensions on engine mounts and your placement, just looking at best placement to fit everything in.

Thanks!
Craig
Will do

Here are those measurements.

shock tower to center line of the front body mount: 680mm

shock tower to the center of the engine mount: 75mm

I measured from the back of the shock tower where it meets the chassis rail, as per picture

Thanks! I will see how this matches up with my placement!
How high is the mount flat above the frame? how far do they extend in toward the center of the frame?
Did you offset it to one side of the other? (if so, why?)
