RK, no issues with the exhaust cooking your butt?

Nope. The only heat issue with the exhaust is on the passenger side of the tranny tunnel, where the exhaust pipe runs the closest to the diamond plate tunnel. I'm going to make a heat shield for that area.

what's the size of the rims & tires?

14/42-17 Iroks on 17x9" TrailReady beadlocks.

saweet. Mean looking 40 you got there

damn nice rig bro...

RK what are the gears in you axels ?

I am kind of leaning your way. got the Chevy350,sm465/205 stock combo, and a 14 bolt.

do you know your crawling ratio?

I am not up to the dana 60 yet but I am thinking of lowering my axels toy FJ40 & 14 bolt from 4:11 to 4:88

Can anybody confirm this 465/205 and Axels 4:11=62.65:1 crawling ratio is this right?

if it helps and make a different i am runnig 37's

Thanks

465/205/4.11 diffs is 57:1. Don't forget, RK has the LoMax 3:1 in the t-case also..

IMO, if you're gonna do 'tons, go deep on the gears, because you're gonna end up on at least 40" tires.

Thanks Eskimo.

I went back and check my calculations and the 62.65:1 seems to be w/ 4.88 on the axels not 4.11's.

I am seriously considering the gears for the axels on the 5 something.

My truck still going to be driven on the street and highway, so doing at least 65 mph is a must.

Any suggestions on gears for the axels that would make this truck keep up with highway traffic and a descent crawl ratio.

note: the expensive t-cases are not to be consider at this time yet, may be next year.

My axles are 4.56 right now, but will be 5.13 soon! That would put my total crawl ratio at 100.8:1.

because of you I have spent a whole bunch of money.:D

Got me some 60s, 17" beadlocks and Im chopping the back half of my 40 off

It's just money, they print more of it everyday! Seriously, start a thread of your build-up, we want to see pics.

did you ever get it weighed?

Not yet, I still haven't finished it. Building a house has temporarily put the buggy on the back burner. As soon as I finish, I'll weigh it and post up the numbers.

weight 4450

Here are some pics of the rig with the 1 ton axle swap completed. Leaving tomorrow to test it out.

Very nice. Clean to boot. Those tires are still looking too new. Looking forward to the wheeling pics.

R.K. very nice look, still a very clean truck for the wheeling it's been through, looks like you didn't scimp on the detail, the axle ends are even color matched to the body, very nice.
