Good day at the cab in. Got to drive for cruisers in one day. Drove the 100 series, FJ62, a FJ40 and finally a FJ25. Didn't get any pictures of teh FJ25 didn't have the camera along. May have found my low battery problem on the 25. Remove some lind of a quick disconnect just off the negitive post on the battery. I guess next time I'm up I see. The FJ25 stil just has the bikini top and only needed a light jacket. Temperature in the low thirties just perfect for a drive in the forest.

Until yesterday, I think you had more snow than us.

That new 40 almost makes me want a "modern" cruiser.

We may get another eight inches tomorrow. I do like driveing one of these new modern FJ40 with the three on the tree. Could just use a little more padding on the driver's seat. I do need to get a couple of new hub caps with holes. All mine were done by POs and look it. Same thing with my early hubs caps. Bought a couple from Mike with OEM hole because the rest were hand cut. I do have enough to use them on the trail now. The PO of the 1970 used full caps and remove them to lock the hubs. The hubs are second generation Husky hubs. Had never seen any before. Even rarer than the original Husky hubs. I just wonder if they are any better than the originals? If you look close at the lock out hubs you will see that work backwards then you would think. I found that out last time I was driving up a hill in snow.:whoops:

I know you have some of these laying around John. Maybe you could get in touch with her so she plan something for the half time show at the super bowl. I have no plans to watch the game but if this is going to happen please post up so I can set my DVR.

Believe the springs were the same on all FJ40 until the 81 model that started in 8/80. Specter show going back to 58 but the FJ40 was seen here until 1961. The earlier onew were FJ25s and those did have different springs.

FJ 40 springs DID change somewhat, I can't pinpoint the year. Early springs have a tapered end which flares out to the edge on each spring below the main leaf. Later 40 springs are bluntly cut off with a small triangular cut to the inside to kinda put a point on the spring.

Not military. That's a Willys trailer, probably collectible to a Jeep guy.

The wheels have been reversed on the centers. It probably doesn't have the modern standard trailer bearing and hubs but the old standard car front axle bearing and hubs. (I used Ford Tractor front hub sets).

Im not really in the market for a trailer. Is it worth $400? It looks solid from the pics.

If I was in the market, and it was in decent shape, I'd probably get it for $400, but I would start lower
