I'd spend about 8 hours of actual driving time trailering my FJ40 from Phoenix to Moab. (That's going up through Flag, Tuba City, Blanding, etc.) A little longer if you take a side trip to Canyonlands on the way, which is a must if you've never been there. :)

In any case, it's a gorgeous drive up there, especially going through Monument Valley and southeast Utah.

You haven't been to Moab yet, John? Set me aside an extra Cruiser, a way to get it up there, and I will show you the way, my son. :D

That's what I'm looking for, a name or a location I can put on those pics (I know where the dark green one is). Everything else I can either put a first name or a place on it.


Oh, the 40 has to be a '61, maybe John can narrow it down more. :)

You guys trying to draw me out of lurk mode? The 61 40 is in a cave in MT, so is the blue/gray 25 (SA spec)....gotta go to work.....

I knew I had seen the clearance lights on the fender before. I do like the way the aftermarket doors fit the factory bows. But the seats just don't look like they belong in a 1961 Land Cruiser. By the size of the exhaust and it's location looks to still have the original engine.

You work? So the blue/gray is the third down in your avatar? Your going to need a DVD all for yourself. :grinpimp:
 
Hey no more cracks about some of us being old:frown: . If I remember correctly that blue one (SA spec) came with a red one from someone who made transfer case savers. Jim you were the one who gave me the link to the guys FJ25 restore site before he sold them to Phil. You know back when Phil was cornering the market on FJ25s until he realized there is no market for the FJ25s. Just a few lost souls.:rolleyes:

I won't call them inbred, I prefer transplant recipents. This still the 25 forum even if it is the chat thread and we should try to be politically correct. Other wise our moderator will move this thread over to the general chat forum :rolleyes:

I think this whole 25 thing is a soap opera, what a hoot! The green 61 40 was in high weeds when I found it, V8 conversion gone bad...this is the one we put a late 2F in, mated to mid 70's trans/tcase, disc front end with 40 factory power steering...

The blue 25 SA spec is the one the Daughter claimed, the big priority if there is such a thing in my garage...you can see the front driveshaft hanging down in Jim's pic, no transmission

Phil-

This is Gloria's doodlebug. I think that 's a NE name for a homemade tractor made from a car. She used to sit on the gas tank when her father skidded in trees (the seats weren't there). We have their sawmill too...........driven by a '41 Chevy with the rear up on blocks, rear fender removed, and a leather belt thrown around a wheel rim for power.

Oh, best we can tell it's a '32 Chevy tudor, 4 speed truck tranny (PTO on the box), torque tube to a Ford TT rear end (7.5:1 worm drive) and oak block suspension.

Although I didnt make it the last time I tried this, today went without a problem. Of course, the trip to work took twice as long. I got flagged into Wallingford Toyota for them to gawk at it, and then got stopped again down the road by a local in an FJ40 on 38" swampers.

We really should rally for a "Take your Land Cruiser to work day" Anyone have the date when that first Cruiser was imported? That would be a good day to have it.
