Took it to Calico for a shake down run.

The Roll Cage Works great!

where the hell are the pictures?

When you say your roll cage worked great does that mean the 45 was on its side or some other d'aminal position?

New windshield frame is needed. The upper cab corners are "OK" but need some work.

Ouch! Body work time?

Nothing as dramatic as you are thinking. Hopefully other club members have the pics. I have pics of the aftermath.

It was not one of those moments where you hand someone the camera and say "Take my picture while I try to do this and fail horribly".

damn.....

Got your message yesterday, but it was late by the time I got it. I'll give you a call today sometime.

Oops. Hope it wasn't all that bad. Thanks for sharing the work you've done. Your truck really is an expression of the perfect 40 series to me.

I went through the same place today that got Dan's windshield frame. Damage done, one bent to hell roof rack that was bolted to the roll cage. I was worried about hitting my windshield like Dan an cleared that, but got the rack instead. Here is a picture of the culprit:

It doen't look bad from the pic, but once you go to exit the tunnel, it gets very tight and the top left side gets hit.

why not fold thw windshields down or better yet, leave them at home or at the trail-head?!

So let me get this straight...

You successfully tested your roll cage, did damage to the windshield frame...

And never spilled a drop from your your coffe cup.

Meh :flipoff2:

Looks like a neat trail feature though. Did you have your rock climbing helmets on?

There were two arches or caves.

I think that is the first one which is bigger than the second.

Trail leader "If you can fit through this one, the next one is a piece of cake". Well I fit through the first one and literally wedged it going through the second one. I asked the trail leader and he so "Oh, we must have came from the other direction last time"

A few more.

It scuffed the paint but the entire rig squated, the tires bulged, etc. Looking through the cage in the top pic, you can see the windshield frame.

Very well built and it is tied to the frame very well. If this was body mounted, my floorbaord would be a few inches lower.

Roof sliders ;)

Looks like you reamed it out for the next time.

I found a ravine to park in and really flex it out. I'm not totally stuffed, I though this ravine would have done it. Nope.

Remember those are 39.5 Irocs and the rig is the technicaly the same as a SOA FJ60. Look at the top of the tire and the bottom of the body line.

The rig is sitting level.

I am totally impressed.

This was our annual club run to Calico. We pitched in and picked up some junk car and other stuff as well.
