I installed a new starter. Upon starting the LC starts right up. It idles fine but when I push gas pedal it sputters and almost dies. When I take my foot off pedal it will return to idle. I checked all hoses and pipes r connected. No leftover screws. Any information is greatly appreciated...

The puzzle has been solved. Fuel Pulsating Damper was the issue. Want to give a shout out to #abuck99 for providing a diagram which triggered me to look more closely at the Damper. In the diagram it shows two gaskets that I did not remember seeing during removal. I ordered the gaskets and installed but still no start. Ordered and replaced Damper and it started right up. Never knew the Damper part existed prior to this. Not much information on it. I did find one video on youtube that perfectly explains the damper and its function. I will post here for helping others. I had to video the damper when turning the key to see if the tiny screw was moving or not. It was not so that verified it needed replacing. Fuel Pulsating Damper
Here are some pics of the new compared to old part and the gaskets. Larger gasket goes on top. Torque is 29 ft lbs. Bolt size is 22mm. Helps if you use a stubby 22mm wrench. Not recommended to use old gaskets. Purchase new when reinstalling. Thanks to everyone on the forum for your help!

so it really did fail? as in creating a way too lean condition? it wasn't just slinging fuel all over because of no crush washers?
Or maybe both? not enough pressure getting through to open the port/other port under the diaphram as some of it was leaking due to lack of crush washers?
I wouldn't think this could fail and strand someone.
At the same time I would think if you had a banjo bolt tall enough for the fitting you could take the damper out and carry on. I don't really know though.

bust it open and look?
