Good day.
I have been struggling to find any questions on the AHC system. Weird. Anyway I’m going to start the first ever AHC thread.
You are welcome.
I have some blown out globes in my 02 LX. Thinking about just doing a delete and replacing with OEM suspension. I’ve heard the OEM doesn’t ride nearly as well as a perfectly functioning AHC that is functioning. I get that. Does anyone have any comparison to how the OEM suspension rides compared to a blown out AHC?

Dead globes on AHC feels terrible, lol. Feels like there's zero suspension damping... because that's exactly what's happening.

Good functioning AHC feels better than normal suspension.

OEM 100 series conventional is in between.

Always good to be first!!!

To add to the previous suggestions, the thread linked below gives an idea of what many people have done to handle increased loads with different spring arrangements to retain the occasional convenience of height adjustment alongside the "always on" permanennt comfort of the Toyota Electronic Modulated Suspension (TEMS), and, the auto self-levelling by Active Height Control (AHC). These systems continuously adapt in real time to road conditions and the driver's requirements. It is a long thread but you don't have to read it all get the gist of it:

Probably you have noticed -- or soon you will notice -- that two opposing tribes turn up to any discussion of the comparative merits of the AHC/TEMS suspension versus the conventional suspension:
1. those who swear BY the AHC/TEMS suspension, and,
2. those who swear AT the AHC/TEMS suspension -- and who are wrong, wrong, wrong :bang: :censor:

This.

Do the right thing. Be a 1. Not a 2.

IndroCruise has provided an encyclopedia of knowledge here on the system in a way that is easily digestible for all folks.

I would judge it by rust. If you have any rusty componets or lines, delete it and go conventional. If there's no rust, fix it and enjoy the ride.
