Question - I have a 2000 LX470 with AHC and I am in the early stages of planning to add aux lighting. Have read numerous threads, many talk about either going through the rubber grommet on the driver side (near brake booster) or the passenger (AHC) side. They mention a "nipple" on the grommet you can poke a hole through and run wire through. I am looking at doing this on AHC side because there is a fair amount of clean space to put switch box. I just want to confirm that I am looking at the correct grommet nipple I can run wire through that lead to behind glove box. Please see pics pics below to confirm.

I wanted to run my circuit on the passenger side but getting around the heater core/behind the dash on the inside looked like a total nightmare. Drivers side was a breeze. Curious to see what your plan is for that.

Welp, I didn't think about that! Hmmm, I've looked at the driver side grommet and I don't see a nipple. I'm open to driver side. Do you have pics of your set up?

That nipple is perfect. You want pass side wire, use the pass side, you want drivers side wire, use the under the ABS. The difficulty is equal both ways. I have 2-3 both sides.

Not necessary to punch a new hole, go through the rubber nip like suggested by JerryB and your original thought

Its very easy to get it through past the glove box if you decide to go in on that side once the box is removed and you use tricks like metal wire poked through taped to the electrical wire to help pull it all through ...

Little dab of RTV or similar to seal the hole up from any water ( which rarely makes it up into this area ) and if you need to go through again you can easily removed the RTV and go again

No AHC on my rig so I've got more space to work with but same concept at the firewall and beyond

I planned on using the passenger side at first because I removed all my AHC awhile ago but ended up getting the mounting brackets from lumberjack engineering for auxbeam system. Easy install and very clean look

@RedRaider89 Very clean! Did you just punch an new hole through the grommet near brake booster?
