Didn't cost him anything to get his bezel on right, Ken. You could start there! :flipoff2:

Beautiful job!

Dave, why fix it? It's too much fun. I would miss these moments of ours, sniff, sniff

Romer, costs you ask? Honestly haven't added it all up yet but I got a killer deal on the truck to begin with -- it was originally from Montana and showed up in VA where I bought it from a friend who is an auto broker. Some kind treatment by the guys at JTO, local Toyota parts department, and local NAPA store and life is good. Everything you see/can think of has been renewed or rebuilt....axles, brake system (lines, hoses, calipers, etc.); wiring harnesses; lights; weatherstripping; emblems; trans/transter; suspension; clutch; engine, radiator, ....you get the idea.
I had some unexpected costs - like the engine rebuild and I spent a small fortune on POR-15 to paint the frame and tub when it was all apart. The engine had been rebuilt by the last owner - only 10k miles on it - work done by Jasper shop at cost of $3700!! Well, they or the mechanic who did the install for the PO screwed something up as the thrust bearing was shot so...new crank and rod/main bearings later she's running again just fine. Except painting and the crank install - did all the work myself.
I know I haven't exactly answered your question - scared to do so....my wife might find out.. Seriously, couldn't have had a bigger supporter on this project but she's glad the "other woman" is finally done. Overall, <$15k including price of the vehicle. If you exclude the paint, engine work and rhinoliner (and all the extra tools, compressor, etc I bought to help out) -- well less than $10K...that's if you pay me <than a penny an hour in my time but everyone has to have a hobby, right?

I'll pitch in my affirmation there, you did very well on the money end!

Brave of you to write it down, though!

just in case all the other addaboys were not enough, i'll pitch mine in.

sweet ride!

now, lets go hit the trails with it! :D

never understood the term "frame off resto" isn't the frame the only thing still there?

Looks great man... Good job

She's definitely a beaut!!!

I can only imagine the sinking feeling you'll get when you pick up your first door ding, scratch, or rock chip.

It's almost bad to get her looking that good,... you won't want to "use" her anymore.

Hope you do, though, she'll love you for it!!

;)

Man I'm going to have to wait a long time to post pictures of my project. I'm hoping it will come out just like yours. And for what it's worth my '79 doesn't have that hole you were talking about. Maybe that plow set up needed it?

Never the less, very impressive

Crewserdog: That is a VERY nice LC. I really like the red paint job. The only thing that could 'improve' it is to have a set of stock wheels in place of the white wagon wheels... but I'm picking a bit.

Seriously good job, congratulations!

YOUR RIGHT!
It should be E.O.T. RESTO.. Everything-off-the-frame resto! Unless you turned the rig upside down before you started, unless your in Oz, then you're already upside down.
